"I would love too," King had a little smile on. It would probably be weird at first, but if he was going to hide out here for a while might as well talk to the other person living in the house. He moved so Void could lead the way, "And about you being tired, that was probably from me wasn't it?"
"No, no… Using my ability to the max exhausts my energy for a few days." He shrugs hopelessly. He walks down the stairs. "Pax?" He calls gently. The smaller male looks up from his nest of blankets. "Yeah?" He coughs softly. Coby sighs. "Have you taken your meds yet?"
"I couldn't reach the cabinet…" He replies softly. He nods a little and ruffles his hair gently. "Alright. Come on." He gently guides his brother to the kitchen. Pax glances at King. "Who… who's this? Did you invite someone without telling me again?" He asks
Colby flushed bright red. "Pax! I don't always do that! Just when people are hurt…" He sighed and looked down. "Ah- this is…" He paused. He didn't know King's real name.
"King," he said with a laugh at Void's flusteredness while figuring it couldn't hurt form them to just know his first name. The last name is where everything got tricky and legal and yuck. He figured Pax must be sick or of the likes considering how he was wrapped up in blankets and needed meds. King was also surprised to see Void acting this gentle, then again he shouldn't be that surprised, "I'm just crashing here for a few days."
Pax hummed. "Not the first time. Colby usually likes to let them in and usually, they stay, leave and Colby breaks down again."
"That's enough of you." Colby sighs, filling the med cup before looking at Pax. "Head up." He says quietly. Pax opens his mouth and tilts his head up. Colby pours the content down his throat."Okay… go back to bed… You need to let the meds sink in." He says quietly. Pax nods.
Colby, that must be Void’s name. He had never bothered to do research on his enemy’s personal life since King had only ever wanted to see him as a villain, that was going to be harder after this. His mind started to spiral back to last night and King quickly shook his head to stop it. He couldn’t do that right now. He looked at the pair and realized Colby was sending Pax back to bed, guess he missed his chance to talk.
Pax shook his head. "No… Colby please… I want to stay downstairs… I never get to see you anymore…" He mutters softly. Colby sighed and nods, "Alright. As long as you promise you take it easy."
Pax nods eagerly, "Thank you, Colby." he mutters as he hugs his brother. Colby smiled softly before nodding. "Go hang out on the couch." He mutters softly. Pax scurries off before Colby smiles weakly. "So. Would you like some water." He asks curiously. "Do you need anything at all?"
"Water would be nice," King responded to Colby though seeing his strained smile. He was going to maybe tease him like he typically did in these situations, but opted for much kinder words, "You care for your brother a lot, don't you?
Colby nods a little. "Water it is." He grabs a glass and looks down. "Y-yeah… He's all I've got…" He mutters softly. "He's been sick since he was little… But he's getting better." He ran a hand through his hair. "Just a few more years of medication and he'll be healed up…" He sighed and looked down.
"That's good," King said as he ran a hand through his hair thinking about his own family issues. He was pleasantly surprised to find it had dry and was now back to it's soft and fluffy normalness. Yes, he liked his hair soft and fluffy. He gave Colby a smile, "I'm glad for him."
"Yeah." He mutters softly, his eyes shutting as he took a deep breath. He hands King his water. "There." He smiled a little bit before guiding him back into the living room.
King was watching Colby carefully, but followed him into the living room. He looked around seeing that the house Colby was in was quite large so the man was doing well for himself rather than King who half lived off Ramen, "So, your names Colby?"
"Yes, Colby." He chuckles softly. "It's on my birth certificate." he laughs. He settles on the couch and Pax looks up from his nest. "Can we watch a movie?" He asks sleepily. He nods and hands the other the remote. "Go for it." he leans into the couch and grunts quietly.
King didn't feel it would be right to intrude on the couch so he sat on the armrest used to being a bit of a third wheel for this kind of stuff. It's how he was able to slip away so easily to get to wherever he needed to be as Crystalline. He gave them a smile and laugh, "Well, Colby's a better name than King."
"I like King. It's regal." he chuckles before sighing softly and rubbing his head. He felt a migraine coming, and he didn't want to deal with it. He sighed and shuts his eyes. He was exhausted.
King saw that Colby was in some amount of pain and probably still tired. He wanted to repay the villain for the kindness he had given King, "You could go sleep or something. I can watch your brother."
"No, no. It's alright." He mutters softly. The last time he had left Pax alone, Pax had been used as a ticket, a trading card. That's how he became this. This… monster. A man who destroyed buildings, destroyed people, he was this now.
"Okay," King responded looking at him a bit warily. He wasn't going to disrespect Colby's decision, he just wondered what the thought process behind it was. Considering how close the two brothers were and how much Colby cared for Pax it was very well possible that Colby was worried King would do something to his brother. This could stem from a past experience in which Colby left Pax alone with someone and his brother ended up getting hurt or used as blackmail. This could also explain why Colby was such a nice person, yet he had to play the part of the villain Void. No stop. You don't need to analyze the situation.
Colby shut his eyes and sighed quietly before Pax moved to nuzzle into Colby's side. He smiled a little bit as he ran his hand through Pax's hair. "Go ahead and rest, Pax…" He mumbles. Pax nods as he watches the movie. He glances over at King and smiles warmly. "You should join us on the couch."
"Are you sure?" King asked broken out of his thoughts. He hesitated before sitting down next to Colby on the free end. King gave him a little smile even though he still wasn't sure this was okay "Okay. You have a nice house if I haven't said that already. Better than my apartment."
"I wouldn't ask if I didn't mean it." Pax mutters softly, a little smile growing on his lips. Colby chuckles, "It's been in my family for ages…" He mumbles. Pax nods before looking at King. "Colby never gets out much, he's usually exhausted when he comes home…" Pax mumbles as he watches Colby doze.
"That," King thought for a moment and licked his lips for a moment. They were dry and he should probably drink rather than lick his lips. He let out a sigh, "I feel that. So I'm guessing you don't get to spend a lot of time with him?"
Pax looks over at the other, his eyes soft. "No… He's trying really hard to help pay for my medical bills…" He mutters quietly. "Colby immersed himself into his work after he was cheated on by his ex…" Pax mutters, his eyes on his brother.
King looked down at Colby sadly. What had this man gone through? He was starting to piece things together, but he pushed that thought back since he shouldn't but into his private life. He was just here because… King involuntarily shuddered as he was reminded of last night. He ran a hand through his hair, "That's horrible. Being cheated on that is. He really cares for you."
Colby had fallen asleep, his face more peaceful then when he was awake. All the lines and creases had fallen away, revealing a rather handsome face, one that wasn't constantly laced with worry and fatigue. Pax looks at his brother and his eyes become sad. "I'm lucky I have him… After our parents… after they left…" His voice cracked, "We only had each other. And then… when my condition got worse and he got cheated on, he just… started disappearing into his room for ages at a time." He mutters. He looks up at King. "You're safe here. Colby wouldn't hurt a soul." Pax murmurs softly.
King wanted to say he knew otherwise but wasn't going to break Pax's vision of his brother. He looked down at Colby and, fuck he was attractive. King looked to Pax, "Of course he wouldn't. I know that. You are lucky to have him, but he's lucky to have you too."
