King was shocked by the words coming out of Void's mouth. He would never have thought the villain would be empathizing with him like he was. Then again he couldn't recall a moment where Void had killed someone. Then again life was full of surprises, but still they fought on a regular basis two sides to one coin. Void had no reason to be this kind to King. He looked at Void, "Why are you being so kind to me? Aren't we supposed to be enemies?"
Colby smiled ruefully. "We may be enemies, but that does not mean that I can treat you like a human." He mutters softly. "in public eyes, we are enemies. In my own home? You are a guest." He mutters softly. "After all, a villain is nothing without their hero. Now. You are welcome to stay here as long as you wish. " He sighed softly.
"I, thank you," King felt almost bad for asking the question, but he felt it had to be asked. If Void was trying to get something out of him by helping him, King had to know. He gave a slight smile to help show his real gratitude. He seemed to be recovering slightly from earlier but still wasn't all there yet. The slight joke in his tone indicated so, "You won't try to raise havoc while I'm out of commission?"
"Of course." He replies gently, before smiling at the other. "Now, why don't I go wash your clothes." He mutters softly, before shaking his head. "I won't I promise." He shakes his head before looking at the other. "You try and get some rest. I'll be back in a few minutes, alright?" He asks, his eyes on King.
"I'll try," King responded. He didn't think he would be able to sleep. Too many nightmare possibilities, but he may try to for Void's sake, "No promises though."
Colby nods, "That's all I ask. Is that you try." He mutters softly, a little smile on his lips. He exits the room, carrying King's clothes into the laundry room.
King let out a sigh and a huff as he laid back on the bed. He carefully removed his mask before tossing it across the room. He didn't see the point of keeping it on since it was bound for him to slip up with it off eventually. Besides he was no hero at the moment, at least not in his head and that's what that mask help solidify. That he wasn't King Crowley, he was Crystalline. He didn't really feel like Crystalline at the moment. He tried to shut his eyes only for the horrific scene to resurface so he kept them open and just stared at the ceiling. What was he going to do about his classes? He would just skip them for now, there was no way he could enter a classroom where they taught law after he had just killed a man.
Colby worked carefully to get the blood out of the costume before placing it into the washer. He smiled a little as he worked, humming to himself. He was back in civilian clothes, not really worried about his identity, since most already knew who he was. He sighed as he walked to the kitchen, his eyes shutting as he tried to calm down. He knew his next mission would be coming up soon and he had to prepare for it.
King let out a long sigh as he covered his head with his arm. He felt exhausted from just everything. If he could sleep, he would, but that wasn't going to turn out well from the one small instance he tried. He debated his options in his head before deciding what he was ding was fine and he would just let sleep take him when it decided too.
(Sure. You want to start?)
(Sure. But what should happen now?)
(Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm. I could start and have King wake up from a nightmare or something.)
(Okay!)
There was blood everywhere. It coated King’s body like a sticky second skin and no matter what he tried it wasn’t coming off. The man’s dead body laid slumped down in front of him while all around him people were screaming murderer. King couldn’t take it any more and he curled up on himself crying muttering I’m sorry. When he looked back up there was a gun pointed at his head and-
He woke with a start tears streaming down his face and his throat sore from either screaming or crying in his sleep. King moved himself so he was away from all edges of the bed pushing himself against the headboard. He was still muttering and shaking, “I didn’t mean to. I’m sorry.”
Colbt was awake, never really one needing sleep. He was working on a project when he heard someone screaming bloody murder and crying. His jolts up from the table, his seat flying back as he pushed up the stairs to Pax's room. It wasn't his little brother… He hurried to King's room and opened the door, his eyes wide with worry. His eyes soften when he saw King. "Oh my.little hero…" He whispers, hurrying to his bed. He gently cupped his cheeks. "Shhhh, it's okay. It's okay. You're safe now, you're safe." He gently wiped away King's tears. He gently gathers King into a gentle hugs. *I've got you."
King didn’t know what to do. He- He hadn’t expected this and his mind was still other places. He had thought his PTSD was bad before, but this was even worse. He ended up shifting his arms around Colby before continuing to sob. He felt like a child yet a hug was what he really needed the most. He muttered between the sobs, “S-Sorry.”
Colby gently rocked him back and forth, brushing some hair from his eyes and wiping away his tears. "My little hero, you have nothing to be sorry for." He coos softly. "You're safe. It's okay." He muttered. "Just cry. Let it all out." He assures gently. "It makes you feel better…"
King kept crying despite his attenpts to stop. He didn't want to appear weak in front of Void any more than he already had, but just crying felt so damn good. He started to wonder how in the world he was going to go back to fighting against him after this was all over. It took sone time but the tea rs finally stopped and King looked back up at Colby. His voice was hoarse as he said, "Thank you."
Colby let him cry, holding him and hugging him gently. "It's okay… It's okay. You're safe now." He whispers softly. As the other stopped crying, he gently wiped away his tears. "It's okay now." He smiled gently when the other thanked him. "Of course. I'm right here." He muttered softly.
King let go of Void and leaned back a little. He went to wipe at his eyes even though Void had already done so. Exhausted from just letting all of his emotions out he looked at Void, "I can stay as long as I need right?"
Colby gently pulls away, his eyes soft as he gazes at the male in concern. Colby was a patient man, someone who could wait ages just for the perfect moment to attack. But this time he wasn't attacking someone. He was helping them. He looked up when King spoke. "Of course. As long as you need."
"I really don't know what to say other than thank you," King said in response the that. His hand went up to thread through his hair pulling it back. He was thinking about everything he had to do since he was well aware he was in no mental state to go to either class or to the cafe. He was also still wary of Void since he was being helpful, but he could easily just end King's hero career in a second, "I- Do you have a phone I could borrow?"
"Don't need to say anything more." He replied gently, a warm smile on his lips. Just because Colby was a villain to the public didn't mean that he couldn't be a human when he was at home. He starts before nodding at the question. "Of course." He stood and walked to the other side of the bed. "Here." It looked like one of the phones you would usually see in an office. "It works, don't worry. Do you need anything else?" He asks gently.
King looked to the phone and made note of it. He hadn't even noticed it yet, that. That was a little surprising, but he had been fairly out of it up until this point. He thought before biting his lip slightly, "Can I get a computer too? I just need to send a few emails so people don't worry about me."
