(Luca jumps off a bridge because the suspenseful cliffhanger was too suspenseful.)

Casey looked around at them. "Are you done? Can I start?" She took another sip from her tea and placed the cup on the counter. "I got a call from Micheal Warner this morning. The politician. There is a disease, a drug, whatever you want to call it. It gets you high, and the effects are supposed to be incredible, but after a short time, it's very, very deadly. It can only be administered by injection and it is extremely potent. It also happens to be the sole activator for a new type of nuclear weapon. If this were to get out into the world it would apparently change the economy, the lives of people, and warfare as we know it." Her words were melodic, almost hypnotizing. You had to pay attention to them, and it was worth it because they told a story. Even if that story sounded absolutely insane. "It is currently secured under a warehouse in an undisclosed location and being held by "the enemy". What enemy, I'm not entirely sure yet. They have yet to manage to unlock the secrets of this substance. Meaning they know its use, they are not entirely sure how to use it, but they're getting closer every day. Warner has promised me 9 billion dollars to get the job done. That's 1.5 billion each, plus some . . . wiggle room. So basically we are going to break into what is supposedly one of the most secure places on the planet, steal a highly dangerous substance from foreign enemies, and become rich in the process. I have a meeting with Mr. Warner tomorrow. Any questions?" She said, taking a sip from her tea and looking around at everyone.

(so disclaimer: I did not do any research to see if any of this is possible, I'm just making it sound as dangerous as possible)

Cameron gazed at her thoughtfully over the rim of his cup. There were many pointing, shady things about this job, but 1.5 billion sounded like on hell of a total. He and his sisters would need it.
“Yes,” He spoke up in his grumbling voice, straightening off the counter to put himself in attention, waiting for Casey’s okay to speak.

Luca stared at Casey. Just stared. She could not believe her damn ears. Holy shit, we're the good guys now?! She clenched and unclenched her hands in excitement. There was no way she was missing out on this job. It didn't matter that it was dangerous as hell. She didn't have anyone waiting at home for her anyway. As Cameron spoke, her eyebrows flicked up in surprise. She wasn't expecting anyone to object. It just wasn't in any of their natures.

Cameron wasn’t objecting, nay, he had questions. Questions that meant life or death for them.
“I have a few questions, but if the others wanted to speak first, they are welcome to step in now.” He glanced up at the others.

"Can I keep some of it? I have a… Friend who could probably research it for a bit." Lane said. He may not look or act like it, but he was quite smart and in this world, quite smart meant deadly for his enemies. He tilted his head as he asked his question, showing he was actually serious about this.

Casey thought for a moment. She could tell Lane was serious but she wasn’t entirely sure if this was a good idea or not. “What kind of friend. How trustworthy are they? Because if it gets out they have it, Warner will come for me. Not that I can’t handle him but I would like this job to be done and to be out if contact with him as soon as possible.”

"Extremely trustworthy, they go under the alias off Time and rarely leave their lab," Lane promised. It was true that Time never left their lab. Except for one small incident with Cherry, but that was unimportant to the matter at hand.

Casey stared into the distance for just a moment, the looked at Lane. “If I manage to get some, then yes. On one condition.”

Lane straightened his head, his eyes bright with the victory. "What is it?" He asked cautiously, if she wanted more of his candy that was a no go.

@Moxie group

“I need an unfailing way to contact and find Time. Just as a precaution. I would only get it if we successfully deliver the substance to them, of course.” Casey’s eyes were calculating and her tone was cold.

Lane gave an adorable smile before letting out a "Yay! Have a candy!" He said, jumping up and handing a butter toffee to her. I just have to find Cherry, she'll help me figure something out…

Luca frowned, not exactly sure it was the best idea to give a component of a biological weapon to an outside source, but she trusted Casey's judgement. Something about this didn't seem right to her. Her eyes like storm clouds as she thought. "Boss…why reach out to a group of criminals for this? We do high profile heists for fun. Mission Impossible and Indiana Jones like stuff. We're not on the government's payroll. The exact opposite actually. I know some of us have rep sheets miles long–" She cut a glance to Sol. "So why us? Seems off." She crossed her arms while she spoke, all flirty fun vanished, replaced by the hard cold manipulator that lingered right under the surface of her skin.

@Euric_Knight

Sol had listened intentley with her legs and arms crossed. "True, this isn't normal for us. But Luca, think about it. Either the world gets ruined or our reputation changes a little bit, which would you prefer?" She understood what the other woman was saying, but Sol often did honest work because she thought the world would be a better place if she did. She inhabited Earth, just like everyone else, and while many criminals think they might as well do whatever they want because the world is going to shit anyway, Sol didn't believe in that. She used her abilities to be strong, to get more power. But she wanted to use that power to make the world suitibale to live in. So it didn't bother her if she had to kill a few people to get what she desires.

"It isn't about our reputation or saving the world," Casey said, turning the butter toffee over in her hands. "It's about the cash. That's why I took the job. And we wouldn't be on the government's payroll, just Warner's. Sure, it's business, but it's shady, hands-exchanging-money-in-the-back-of-the-room business. If I'm being honest," Casey said, running her hands through her hair, "I'm not completely certain why Warner wants us. His answer was that our reputation precedes us. But, as I said, I'm meeting with him tomorrow and will be setting up substantial collateral." Her grin was slightly wicked as she unwrapped the toffee and poped it in her mouth. It was the kind of grin you looked at and was grateful it wasn't directed at you.

Luca continued to frown, but conceded that Casey had a point. Money was money. And with that kind of money? Luca looked down at her feet for a moment, hiding her face so the others couldn't see the flash of emotion. She could leave this damn country behind. Get lost in the world where no one could find her. Not even her past. "Fine." She nodded briskly at Casey. "I'm in."
