Sebastian nodded after a moment's hesitation. "If that's all right with you, then sure."

Sebastian nodded after a moment's hesitation. "If that's all right with you, then sure."
“Of course,” Devon said, smiling as she grabbed a straw and stuck it into the drink. She pushed it closer, leaning on the counter a bit as she watched him. “Let me know what you think.”
Sebastian shifted forward, sucking gently on the straw. His eyes widened slightly as the sweetness of it hit his tongue. "This is good, yum."
Devon chuckled at his reaction. “Told you. It’s make even the worst hater of coffee get hooked,” she joked as she reached for it. “Did you want your own now?”
Sebastian passed it back to Devon with a small shake of his head “Maybe later, I don’t want to be too hyper. Oh, and before I forget, would you mind letting the daycare know that I’ll be the one picking Layla up? So they don’t freak.”
“Sure, that’ll be fine. I can call them in a few minutes,” Devon said with a smile as she took the straw out of the cup and took a drink.
(Skip?)
(Sure. To when he gets back with Layla?)
(Yeah. Want me to start?)
(If you want. I think I'm disappearing in a moment…)
(Oof got it, good night if you do)
Sebastian pushed the door of the coffee shop open with one hip, balancing a certain adorable little girl on the other. “Alright, mommy’s here!” he told Layla happily, bouncing her up and down.
(Night!)
Layla giggled happily. She gasped when she saw Devon walk out from the back of the shop, and both girls grinned at the sight of the other.
"Mommy! Mommy!" Layla exclaimed excitedly, wriggling in Sebastian's arms.
Devon laughed lightly and walked over to kiss her daughter's nose. "Hey there, baby. Did Bahstin pick you up today? Huh? Did you have a fun time with him?"
Sebastian laughed, handing the little girl over to her mother. “We had lots of fun. I thought the daycare manager was going to drop her, she was wiggling so much.”
“She wasn’t any trouble for you, I hope?” Devon wondered as she took her daughter and kissed the little girl’s nose. Layla giggled when she did so and cuddled into her happily.
"Oh, not at all, she was a pleasure," he informed her, leaning back against the nearest unoccupied chair to watch the two.
Devon turned her attention back to Sebastian and grinned at him. "Thanks for picking her up. Did you want to hang out here for while longer?"
Sebastian instantly brightened at the thought. "Can I really?" he asked, happy for any excuse to be near the most important people I his life for a little longer.
(Aw, Sebs… He's so cute~!)
"Of course! I'd like to stay and talk for a bit longer," Devon replied sincerely, smiling softly. "Do you want to sit here?"
(uwu)
"If that's what you want, then definitely." He looked much.. brighter, these days, as if all the life that had been previously sucked out of him had returned full force when he'd met Devon. It was a stark contrast to the way he'd been before..
Devon had certainly noticed a change in him from when they'd first met, and she loved the way his eyes sparkled these days. His smile always melted her heart a little, and the way he was with Layla just completely turned her into a puddle.
"Sure," she hummed, pulling a chair out to sit in. Layla sat in her lap and looked around, smiling at everyone who looked her way.
"So," he began, running a hand through his curls. "How are my two rays of sunshine today?"
Devon blushed a little and smiled at him softly. "I'm actually doing pretty well today, despite having worked," she chuckled. "Layla, are you good?"
"Good! I good!" the girl bubbled, her attention returning to her mother and "Bahstian".
"I'm glad," Sebastian chuckled, eyes traveling freely over both their faces. "I'm very glad."
"And you? How are you today?" Devon asked, pulling a tiny elastic form her purse. She pulled Layla's hair away from her face and into a small half-up ponytail so that it wouldn't be in her eyes anymore.
"I'm great." The bruise on his cheek had ceased to hurt, and the fight had been of little significance either way.
