Layla let out a wide yawn, suddenly, and she relaxed a bit into Sebastian. It was getting rather late for her. She would normally be in bed by now.
"Looks like someone's sleepy," Devon mused softly, giving her daughter a fond look.
"Aww.." Sebastian chuckled sweetly, bringing her gently down from her perch and giving her a soft kiss on the nose. "Should we head back, then?"
(Side hugs! He could side hug her before he leaves. :3)
Devon smiled and reached for her daughter's hand. "That would probably be a good idea. Did you want to carry her?"
(Ey awesome)
His eyes went ever so slightly wider. “Sure— Yes- Definitely. I’d love that.”
(I just randomly had that thought. Lol.)
Devon smiled up at him and chuckled a bit. “All right, Layla. Bahstin wants to hold you, now.”
“Up? Bahstin, up?” the toddler questioned, tilting her head and giving him a small smile as she lifted her hands up.
(Thought?)
He chuckled softly, scooping her back into his gentle embrace.
(The side hug thing. Skip?)
(Oh lol sorry
Yeah sure, to when they get to her place?)
(That sounds good! Do you want to start or should I?)
(Would you mind? Sorry I’m sort of multitasking rn)
(Wait no you are too
I can, it’s fine)
(Lol. No, we’re watching a movie, it’s fine!)
They pulled up at Devon’s apartment, Sebastian still holding a very sleepy Layla in his lap, giving her little nose kisses every now and then.
(Aw, Sebs~!
Lol. That’s okay.)
“All right… We’re here,” Devon said softly as she parked. She turned to face the two next to her, and her heart melted at the sight. Gosh, why did guys with kids have to be so cute?
(Oof)
Sebastian stroked Layla’s hair, glancing over at Devon. “Do you want me to come up, or just get out here?”
Devon smiled at him. “You can come up if you’d like. You can help me put Layla to bed.”
“Sure,” he replied, happiness flooding his features. They got out of the car, Sebastian bouncing the baby up and down.
Devon chuckled softly and led them up to the apartment. “If you can get her to sleep without her fussing, I will be incredibly grateful.”
“I’m on it,” he promised, gently rocking Layla back and forth. “Her room is here, right?”
“Mmhm. Just set her in the bed. She might cry, though, just to warn you,” Devon said softly.
"Got it." Sebastian tossed her a comforting smile and pushed the door open. The room was nice, simple and sweet, giving off a homey, cozy sort of aura that he immediately liked. "Shhh…" he murmured soothingly to Layla, setting her down in the bed.
Layla whimpered a bit and reached up for him. “Nooo…” she whined softly.
He picked her back up again, heart melting for the tiny girl, who he held in his arms and rocked gently. "Hey, it's okay… I'm right here… Remember the sun? The sun went to sleep, so now you should sleep too. When you sleep, you see the sun," He kissed her nose. "In your dream. Do you want to do that?"
“See the sun? In… my dream?” the toddler murmured tiredly. “Yeah…”
