"Eh, fair." She finished pulling out the last of the guts. "Right, do you want to do your side first?"
"Eh, fair." She finished pulling out the last of the guts. "Right, do you want to do your side first?"
"I don't really care. If you want to, go ahead." He insisted, running a hand through his hair.
She happily gathered together various tools and started to draw a large, fancy letter A.
Apollo watched her with a gentle smile, fiddling with his sleeves. "Mm… how long does this party last?"
"Well, we could leave when we finish the pumpkin."
"We don't have to, I was just asking." Apollo insisted, looking up at her. "Besides, you haven't even got to do anything. We've really only wandered around the whole time. I'm surprised you haven't wanted to go find other people to talk to, or do stuff with. I told you I'd be fine on my own."
Ayala cast a sidelong glance at him. "Well, I guess I could go find Mira again…"
Apollo looked up at her, smiling gently. "If you don't want to go find people, you don't have to. I'm not trying to push you away, but I also don't want to keep you here."
"You can go do what you want to, Apollo! I'm not forcing you! Can you hand me a knife?"
Apollo handed the knife over, sitting back in his seat. "There's not much I feel like going off on my own for. I'm fine with whatever."
"You can go find Forrest again." Ayala dug the knife into the side of the pumpkin.
"I don't think she likes me. Not much anyways." Apollo shrugged, playing with his hair.
"Mmm." Ayala continued cutting. "Do you have any ideas for your side of the pumpkin?"
"One or two. Not very creative ideas." Apollo hummed.
"I can help you with those."
"You don't have to. I can come up with my own ideas." He hummed as he looked up at her. "We should hang out again this week."
"We should, definitely!"
"Mm… we should go for a late night drive. Go to McDonalds or something." Apollo hummed with a little smile.
Ayala flicked a piece of pumpkin goop at him. "You know I don't eat at McDonalds."
Nose scrunching, he brushed it off of himself. "Well, I was trying to come up with something. We can go to some other fast-food place."
"You can choose, I just don't like McDonalds." She turned back to the orange squash. "Aren't you going to carve your side of the pumpkin?"
"Well, it's difficult when you're holding the pumpkin. I'm waiting until you get done, I don't want to mess you up." Apollo hummed softly.
"It was a rhetorical question. I thought you meant we'd leave right after I get done."
"Huh?" Apollo asked softly, seeming confused. "Oh- no, I meant some other night. Not tonight."
"Oh." She dug the knife into the pumpkin; a few minutes later, she was done. She'd carved a large and ornate letter A. "There, your turn."
