Sebastian nodded, "Don't hesitate to tell me if you need anything though, I'm happy to get anything that you need."
Sebastian nodded, "Don't hesitate to tell me if you need anything though, I'm happy to get anything that you need."
"I have money, Seb. Money I don't want, yeah, but I have money. If anything, it's the other way around."
"Nope, I'm gonna take care of you," He said, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and continuing along, knowing that they should get to the place soon.
Jami stopped walking. "You don't always have to take care of me, Seb."
He sighed, "But I want to, it's one of the few ways that I can keep my phasing at bay, if I know that you're safe and that I'm taking care of you." He rubbed the back of his neck and met her eyes, "I can stop if you want me to, I have to find more ways to keep the phasing under control anyway.
"Look, when you do it, I just feel useless. I like being able to look after myself, but if you're always worrying about me I can't do that. And sometimes, even though it pains me to say it, it's suffocating."
"I can stop then," He said softly, looking at the ground and clearing his throat, "Let's just keep walking, I'm soaked." He gestured to his shirt and hair, which were soaked through.
Jami started to walk with him but stopped dead in her tracks at a sight she didn't want to see.
Sebastian stopped as well, tempted to ask what was wrong but catching himself at the last second.
"I don't want you here," Jami said to the spirits.
"But sweetie, you're our daughter."
"So?! You died 10 years ago and you're only deciding to show up now?!"
He stood silently next to her, wanting desperately to rest a hand on her shoulder, or ask her what's wrong. He shook his head and took a small step away, leaving her alone.
"But sweetie…"
"But nothing, Mother. You never cared for me and I never cared for you. I want nothing to do with you."
Sebastian turned around and began looking at their surroundings, worry in his eyes as he glanced at Jami and waited for her to be done talking with whoever she was talking to.
"Sweetheart," Jami's mother started.
"Goodbye, Mother," Jami said, grabbing Sebastian's hand and walking off.
"Who was that?" He asked softly, happily walking alongside her again.
Jami was silent. "My parents decided that they wanted me to see them."
"Oh," He said softy, going quiet for a moment, "Do they want you to see them often?"
"That's the thing. They died 10 years ago and only just decided that they want me to see them."
Sebastian nodded, "Why do you think they wanted you to see the now?" he continued walking and reminded himself that every step brought him closer to dry clothes.
Jami thought for a minute. "Maybe it's because Noah died. I keep seeing his spirit, but I think it's because he's sorry for never being there."

"They finally feel bad as well?" He questioned, "Because that's just bad parenting if they're just ow sorry for everything."

"They never loved me, Seb. Never had time for me. Always too busy doing financials or running the company. Didn't matter. I learned to deal with it from a young age."
