(What should he find then?)
"What do you like the best? Earrings? Necklaces? Bracelets?" He asked, going back to searching with a smile.
(What should he find then?)
"What do you like the best? Earrings? Necklaces? Bracelets?" He asked, going back to searching with a smile.
"Necklaces are the easiest. If they're simple, I never have to take them off. If they're not, I never have to wear them. Simple."
(something he may or may not like)
He nodded, "I actually understand your logic there, that makes quite a lot of sense." There was nothing that resembled a jewelry box in the drawer he was searching and he moved onto the next to look.
(My brain is fried at the moment and I can't think, you mind just telling me what he should find?)
"I seriously hate when people give me jewelry," Jami called from the room. "I consitently ask them not to and still every gift is earrings or a bracelet."
(a test of some sort)
(I'm still confuzzled and apparently very very stupid so I'm just gonna pretend like I know what you mean)
"I suppose that would make me a little mad as well," He called back, frowning when he still didn't find any jewelry box, "Are you sure you kept it in a drawer Jami?"
(its something your mum took to know you were coming)
"I'm almost positive," Jami replied. "Almost." She repeated. She just hoped that Seb wouldn't find that.
(ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm an idiotttttt..)
Sebastian sighed and continued looking through the drawer, ready to close it and move on when something caught his eye. "Still no jewelry box Jami, could you come here for a minute though?" He looked at what he was pretty sure was a pregnancy test and waited for her to come over, unsure of what the lines meant.
Jami walked in and immediately freaked out. "You weren't supposed to see that," She said and pulled it towards her with her magic. "You weren't."
"What is it?" He asked, "Why wasn't I supposed to see it?" Sebastian took a step towards her, a look of confusion on his face, "It's a pregnancy test, right?"
Jami took a step back, hiding the test behind her back. "You weren't supposed to see it. You weren't supposed to find out about it."
He didn't take another step forward, just looked at her and the test that she had hidden behind her back, "What does it say?" He asked, "You never have to show me it again if you don't want to and you never have to even mention it but can you just tell me what it says?"
Jami stared at him, hand gripping the test tightly. "It's…" She trailed off, too scared to say. "It's positive. I'm pregnant. But I didn't know how to tell you so I just…didn't."
He went silent for a minute, processing the information she had said before smiling lightly. "Why didn't you tell me Jami?" He asked, taking a few swift steps forward and wrapping her in a tight hug, "You're pregnant.." He whispered, the smile on his face growing rapidly.
Jami didn't return the hug. Sure, she'd always wanted a family, but she didn't think she was ready. She knew Seb was happy, but she couldn't be. Noah had just died, she and Seb were almost about to be engaged and she was only 21. And yet, she had a baby growing in her stomach. She didn't know what to think.
Sebastian took a step away from her and put his hands on her shoulders, giving her a bright smile, "Should we keep looking for this ring?" He asked softly, trying to change the subject when he saw she didn't seem as overly joyed as he did about the information.
"I…I…I…" Jami stuttered, unable to find words. She suddenly ran and jumped out of the window and used her magic to propel herself up to the roof of the mansion, where she sat with her knees to her chest.
He stood there, stunned as she jumped out of the window, snapping back into reality a few seconds later. "Jami?" He called, rushing to the window and looking out of it to see if he could see her, "Jami, where did you go?" He looked up towards the roof but didn't see her from where he was.
Tears started to fall down Jami's cheeks. "I'm not ready for this," She whispered to herself. "I'm not ready for any of this."
"But you'll have a family again," A voice said softly. Jami recognised it.
"Go away, Noah. I don't want to speak to you."
Sebastian sighed and took a step away from the window, figuring she wanted some time alone. He shook his head softly and went back to searching for the jewelry box, determined to find it for her.
"But you need to speak to me," He replied, sitting next to his sister. She ignored him. "Look, I know we didn't have the best relationship. Mum and dad always liked me more and that strained us. I was always wishing that they would pay more attention to you, and then they died. Whenever I tried to talk to you, you would turn me away. So after a few years, I gave up."
After a few minutes of searching he found what looked like the box she had described tucked away in a drawer. He pulled it out and opened it up, smiling proudly before walking back to the window, "Hey Jami, you mind coming here for a second? I think I found your jewelry box." He called.
"I didn't want to talk to you," Jami said. "I knew that if I talked to you, I would burst into tears and never stop. So I ignored you, Noah."
"You don't have to be scared to feelings, Leigh," Noah started.
"Of course I do. If I let people in, I'll get hurt."
He sighed when she didn't answer and walked out of her room, looking for a set of stairs or some way to get to the roof to look for her. The jewelry box was kept tucked safely under his arm as he looked, worried that he had said something wrong to her earlier or he had messed up somehow.
"But if you don't let people in, you won't love," Noah said, his hand turning Jami's face towards him. "Look, I know I wasn't the best brother. But the reason I'm still here is because I haven't made it up to you."
There was no real exit to the roof that he could find and he turned back to her room, heading back to the window, "Jami?" He called again, hoisting himself up onto the widow ledge so he could try to climb to the roof.
