"I don't know if you're thinking of the same thing I am," Jami said. "I don't think it's something to be embarrassed about."
"I don't know if you're thinking of the same thing I am," Jami said. "I don't think it's something to be embarrassed about."
"No, I'm embarrassed about my stupidity." He clarified, looking up at her, "I'm dumber than a box of rocks when it comes to talking to people, especially people that are close to me."
"Again, I don't think it's something to be embarrassed about we'd be together until we died and no one would be able to tell us otherwise."
He smiled a small lopsided grin, "The question is, would you be ready to deal with me and all my craziness and weird ideas until we died?"
"Of course I will! Seb, we're 21. I've dealt with you for about 15 years! I'm not giving up on you know," She said, grin appearing but straighter than Seb's.
"Can you give me one day to get something?" He asked, a small sparkle in his eyes that was common when he was excited or plans were forming in his head.
"If it's a ring, you don't need a day," Jami smiled. "Come home with me. I have all of my grandmother's old jewelry. Even her engagement ring."
He smiled softly, "Are you sure you don't want your own ring? Because I can get some money together and get you one, unless you want your grandmother's ring as your own, 'cus that works too."
Jami's smile softened as she saw her grandmother's spirit. "Even as a little girl, I imagined her ring on my finger. I guess it's always been there."
"Then her ring it is," He stood up and offered her his hand, "Promise me one thing though, you have to act at least sort of surprised when I ask you, ok?"
"If you come with me to my house, sure," Jami smiled, taking his hand.
He smiled and nodded, a happy sparkle in his eyes, "Did you walk here?" He asked, leading her to the door and grabbing his keys.
Jami grabbed the keys and put them down. "And I'd like to walk back there too."
"Fair enough," Sebastian said with a shrug, opening the door for her instead. As long as he wouldn't have to speak to anyone when they were walking he should be fine and his stutter should stay away.
Jami walked downstairs and waited for Seb to come down, then interlocked her hand with his.
He came down after locking the door and then laced his fingers with hers, walking towards where Jami lived.
It started to rain, but Jami didn't care. The rain was another one of her homes.
Sebastian did care. As the rain came down he scrunched his shoulders up, giving her hand a light squeeze, "Are you ok with the rain? Or do you want me to give you my jacket so you don't get wet?"
"I love the rain, Seb. There's been so many days where I've just sat outside in the rain to relax."
"That doesn't mean you have to get soaked," He said, letting go of her hand as he tugged his jacket off and slipped it over her shoulders.
Jami reluctantly let him do it. "Seb, I'll be fine. Relax. Nothing bad's gonna happen to us."
He sighed and looked over at her, "I'm still worried about you, not so much myself, but you." He grabbed her hand again and continued walking, getting soaked but not caring as much as long as she was alright.
She sighed. "I'm perfectly fine. Wearing this jacket makes me unhappy, but I'm wearing it for you."
"You don't have to wear it," He said reluctantly, pulling it off of her shoulders and tying it around his waist, "I'm just still worried about you."
"But you don't have to be. I can handle myself. Mainly because I can see spirits. I'm just glad my parents haven't shown up yet. Even though Noah has."
