(Okay. My mom’s been saying that a lot, I got a little self conscious. She didn’t think the man in the commission I was working on looked masculine enough)

(Your mom has bad opinions, pretty men are pretty men and like, men. Idk I just think they look good.)

(Should I make Ishtar more wholesome or more friend?)

Deleted user

(I mean that works quite well, but like, how far should I go into the friend scale?

@HighPockets group

(Hmmm…moderately? Like little kids are pretty gremliny because they don't know better, but then eventually just decide to be gremliny for fun.)

(Yeah I can see her just deciding to be batshit for the fun of it. She and Esme are gonna get along so well lol.)

(Ishtar: eating bugs
Esme: NOO! We don't be mean to the bugs, bugs are friends!
Ishtar: monchy cronchy
Esme: Muuum, Ishtar's a murderer!)

(Ishtar is just,,, she's babey but she doesn't understand anything and she just needs help.)

(I just want cute family/sibling dynamics, and I can have both types of the younger siblings who would both die and kill for each other with Esme and grumpy older sibling being a bit too overprotective but well meaning with creechur/I haven't come up with a good enough name yet but I will.)

The creature sat there until morning, and Ishtar held his hand tighter still until the sun rose, and she'd finally relaxed back into a deep sleep. This wasn't strange, the creature himself had slept quite a bit in his early days, and she needed the rest just as much as he had. At least she even had a chance to rest, really, he hadn't much with people regularly passing through the forests in which he'd made his home, people he'd had to hide from.

"I wish this was going to be easy for you." he sighed to Ishtar, he wished that things would be better but instead, they were growing steadily worse.

Robert had nightmares. Of course he did. He didn’t remember them, which he supposed was a mercy, but there was a strange sense of something watching him. And of course, the building sense of dread, and the stab of terror once he woke.
He got up quickly though. Maybe not dwelling on it would make it go away, it wouldn’t happen again. The last repeating nightmare wasn’t any less strange or terrifying. The strange thing was, he could still remember those dreams, but not these recent ones. Of course, there were no images in his head he remembered, but he knew then he was a boy, small and thrown into a box. Every night, walls all around, no one there to get him out. Or sometimes there were, sneering or whispering or tapping from outside. But he never got out, no matter how many times he screamed or cried or called out. Inside, shut inside that box for a week, and he was suddenly afraid to got to sleep. But then, it was only for another three days before the nightmares were gone.
He just hoped it never happened again.
But it did. He knew it did, because he remembered, and yet that one was the most vivid of them all. It seemed every time he remembered it, it would start all over again.
He quickly dressed and went downstairs.

"Robert. I think you'll be happy that we'll be getting out of the house, Esme wanted a picnic with the boys and her Mum, and I was happy to oblige." Anna said. She was out of her usual work attire, and instead in a flowing summertime dress, the weather wasn't too hot and wasn't too cold, it was a perfect day for such attire but Anna hadn't worn anything similar since her wedding and it was certainly a surprise to see her in it, but a welcome one. It had been for Margaret, who'd drawn her into a emotional kiss when she'd seen it, and then taken her out to show the others. Margaret was wearing a similar sort of dress, but then again, she was significantly more prone to wearing such outfits even if she usually stuck to men's clothes. Esme was wearing a dress that was clean, but not so good, a dress perfect for running around and messing up, and Ishtar did not seem happy with the clothes that had been picked out for her, but Anna's childhood nightdress was the only thing that even came close to fitting the girl and while Ishtar thought it itched and kept trying to pull at the threads, it did suit her, strangely enough. At least she seemed to understand the purpose of clothes, and wasn't running around in bandages all the time.

Margaret continued Anna's statement. "I just thought, we've all had such a troubling time lately, and it would be good to get out of the house, so when I'd asked Esme she said a picnic. Well. Not quite, she'd initially wanted us to look for you-know-who, but she seemed equally happy to go on a picnic." Esme wasn't hearing this, she was instead showing Ishtar how to tie her hair up and the little creature didn't seem to understand a thing of this, but enjoyed it anyways. "And you need out of the house. I know things have been rough lately, but Anna has the perfect excuse to go out today, we'll split up and she'll head with you into town later to find your Victor, and we'll head back to the house to make dinner. Once you find out where he is, come back and tell us. Anna says she has a good potential source, a trusted friend of hers."

"Remember when I came back to the house staggering and covered in blood? Trusted source, he owes me a few thousand for putting up with his frankly idiotic experiments. I know you have never believed of my werewolf state, but he seemed to, and honestly it was a welcome relief from your excuses of where I was obviously going on full moons." she chuckled, and she knew Robert still wouldn't believe her but would want to help at least a little.

(I'm actually doing a modern-day Frankenstein RP with another person, and I made the creature a mean little gay. He has all the reasons to be bitter compared to my more book-accurate baby, and he is a lot more bitter. Then again this is at the beginning of his story arc, before he does any murders, and he doesn't even think he fully wants revenge, he's just using the hurt Victor caused him as a justification for being shitty. Idk I just think that smol and angy creechur is just as valid as tol and ✨depressed✨ creechur.)

@Tired-but-passionate

(oh also the idea of Robert having something watching him in his dreams was me going a little Call of Cthulu and wondering if the world ending horror the cult worships is watching them soooooo yeah)

@Tired-but-passionate

For a moment, Robert forgot about his nightmares. Seeing Anna in a dress immediately told him something was up. And at the mere mention of going out, all of them, together? He had to keep himself from squealing like a child. It had been so long, too long since they had all gone out together.
"Oh, that sounds so wonderful!" he exclaimed, going over and wrapping each arm around each of their waists, hugging them both. "Thank you so much."
He pulled away, a confused expression on his face. "What do you mean, 'your Victor?' That's- ah, never mind." He nodded to Anna. "I see. And no, I don't, but I suppose I should be glad," he chuckled. Despite what he said, after last night with Esme, he was starting to have doubts.
He rubbed his hands together. "I'm starving. What's for breakfast?"

(hahaha agreed, thats cool. Also why am I imagining Ishtar as a half-orc?)

(Because half-orcs are cool.)

Anna smiled, a bit strictly but still a smile. "Breakfast is the picnic, and if you carry the basket I'll ignore it if you think of peeking. I just thought getting an early start might be nice, and nothing works up a good appetite like a nice walk." she wasn't entirely doing this to torture Robert, she did indeed enjoy a good exercise, but she also knew that mildly annoying her brother in law was one of her greatest talents and joys in life.
