Hyde laughed. "I've been around longer than you have, boy!" which sounded odd given that he looked at least five or six years younger than Robert. Edward then promptly shut up, recognizing this somewhat and seeming a bit put off by the fact. He then loaded the rest of the group into the carriage, and hitched the horses up to it, all of whom seemed very uncomfortable with Hyde.
Robert was tired. So, so tired. While he gave the raisin a grumpy, confused look, he didn’t ask further. He got inside the carriage.
Mina sighed, remembering her broken arm. She probably wasn’t able to help with anything anyway. She followed after Robert.
Hyde drove them out and away, and when they were close to city limits, he looked worse than ever. Once they got to his house, a little room rented out for the next month, until at least, he could get out of town, and started preparing some things. Mostly, a potion that he promptly downed, eyes suddenly regaining their youth, his flesh looking a lot like it was peeling off. He shuddered, sat down, sighed. "Make yourselves at home. Anna, lass, you and Robert should get back to your lady. I can take care of the kids." he nodded to Victor and Mina.
The further from that wretched place they got, the better both Robert and Mina felt. Robert was still tired, but at least less grumpy. He mostly spent the drive watching Victor and crushing any fleas left on him.
When they arrived at the apartment, Robert laid the small man on a spare sofa, leaning down to examine him. Mina took to watching the other small man, Hyde, taking note of the effects of the potion but not saying anything. She readjusted her glasses, making a huff of indignation.
“I’m not a child, Mr. Hyde. I have a husband, and I need to get in contact with him as soon as possible.”
Robert raised his head, looking from Hyde to Anna. Letting out a deep sigh, he straightened. “We should. Uh, thanks… for all your help.”
"Lady, I don't care if you have a husband. You probably also have fleas right now, and I'm not going to send you out looking like you just escaped the confines of hell. And Robert? Take a vacation. As stated, I can take care of the kids. Victor is safe here, I have people here that I may not trust to save me own skin, but would certainly save his if it made them a quick penny." Hyde said. Anna narrowed her eyes, and they glossed over with something suspicious, something otherworldly, just for a second.
"I swear Hyde, if you call me a 'kid' one more time, I will–" Mina stopped herself, knowing she was too tired to carry out any threat she could have made anyway. Her gaze drooped to her arm in the makeshift cast. "I would at least like to send him a letter."
Robert nodded as he reached up to rub his eyes. If he could, he would pass out here and now and never wake up. "I… I'll trust you with this, Hyde. Be warned, I will send letters, heh. Anna, are you ready to go?" Glancing at her, he caught that strange look in her eyes, and his voice wavered slightly.
"I'm ready." she said. Hyde nodded to the two of them, and after they had left, he looked to Mina. "Do you want help with yer arm, or are you content to let it heal deform'dly?" he asked, moving to get out some bandages and pain medication. "I've fixed many of me own injuries before, but sometimes it helps to have a friendly hand." he said.
She nodded. “I would… appreciate your help. Miss Anna didn’t have access to a lot of medical tools when she first treated me.”
