“They’re by the door, hanging up on the hooks. I would maybe like to use the bathroom before we leave, though,” Amber said, still laughing a little.
“They’re by the door, hanging up on the hooks. I would maybe like to use the bathroom before we leave, though,” Amber said, still laughing a little.
William sighed, pressing her close to him for a second before he set her gently on the floor.
“Well, then, use the bathroom,” he flicked her on the nose, “And once you’re done, it’s back in my arms for you again.”
“Only if you can catch me,” Amber teased in a singsong voice as she made her way over to the bathroom down the hall.
“Oh, I’ll definitely catch you,” William grinned at her wickedly. “You know I will.”
“No guarding the door!” Amber called, her voice ringing with laughter before she closed the bathroom door.
William shook his head in amusement. He didn’t need to guard the door to catch her. He was taller than her, and he had long legs. Catch his point? He could grab her easily, so he waited for her to come out.
A few minutes later, Amber stood at her sink as she washed her hands. She blinked at her reflection, dried her hands, and tugged on the collar of her shirt. A few darkening marks greeted her sight, and she smiled a little when she saw them. They were just another reminder that she had found the one person in life that she never wanted to lose again.
William exhaled, running a hand through his hair. Who would have thought he’d be here with Amber again? Who would have thought, really, that he could have her again? He swore to himself he wouldn’t let her go again. They belonged with each other, not with different people. He’d make sure of it.
With a wide grin on her lips, Amber stepped out of the bathroom. Her eyes lighted on William, and her grin widened.
“There you are,” William grinned when he saw her, more so at the look on her face. “I suppose I should be catching you now, huh?”
“You can certainly try,” Amber laughed a little and began to back away.
William lunged for her, a smirk on his features. How long would it take for him to snatch her in his arms?
Amber let out a soft squeal of pure delight and dashed away. “You cannot catch me!” she assured him with another laugh.
“Honey, I could do this all day,” William called after her, laughing. He ran around a couch, wondering if he should have just jumped over it. But would it be fun if the game ended too quickly?
“As with many things. Like staring at me,” Amber chuckled, running toward the kitchen but not entering it. She didn’t want to get trapped quite yet.
“Or kissing you,” William added as he chased her toward the kitchen. “But yeah, among other things.”
Amber spun around to grin at him before hurrying away toward the hallway. “I still don’t think you can catch me.”
“Is that meant to be a challenge?” William quirked an eyebrow, stopping and instead taking slow, predatory steps towards her.
Amber blinked, her heart skipping a beat at the look in his eyes. She began backing away from him slowly, biting her lip. “Take it as you will, love…”
“I’ll take it as a challenge, then,” William said right before he lunged for her again, this time nearly touching her before she darted away from him.
Amber squeaked again, giggling as she ran from him. This was actually a lot of fun. She liked playing like this with him.
Soon enough, the intense look in his eyes was replaced by something playful. He stopped trying to get her and instead focused on trying to catch her, running after her.
Finally, he caught up to her, grabbed her wrist and wrapped his arms around her tightly.
“Gotcha,” he breathed harshly. “That was fun, Blue.”
“Hey!” Amber squealed when she was caught and pulled into his chest. She grinned up at him, her breath even heavier than his. “Yeah? I thought so, too.”
“Well, aren’t you tired,” Willian nuzzled her neck, another breathless laugh erupting from his mouth. “C’mon, then, let’s go now. We’ll continue this later.”
Amber reached up to press their lips together for a moment before taking a step back. “Okay, food. I’m actually pretty hungry after all that, now,” she chuckled breathlessly.
