Raven looked around. "Where are we?"
Raven looked around. "Where are we?"
Connor smiled and took her hand. "You'll see. Come on." He lead her out onto a balcony that overlooked one of the grandest cities in the world. This was his childhood home. "Remember it now?"
Raven felt bad that she didn't. "No, sorry. I never got to travel. Or look at anything travel-wise. I don't know what places look like."
"Right, I forgot. Sorry. It's New York. This house is where I grew up," he said softly.
Raven smiled. "I showed you my home… And you showed me yours."
Connor grinned and stroked her hair. "Yup. You got it."
Raven looked at the city as it slowly became dusk. "It'd beautiful," She breathed, the wind softly moving through her hair and wings.
"I thought you'd like it," he murmured.
Raven hopped onto the railing of the balcony. "I want to go onto the roof." She let herself fall off.
Connor gripped the railing tightly before catching himself. "Duh. My girlfriend can fly." He teleported up to the roof to meet her.
Raven allowed herself to free fall for a little bit. It was different to when her father made her fall. She was… Relaxed. After a short while, she let her wings do their thing and she shot up to the roof.
Connor waited for her and smiled when she arrived. "What do you think?" he asked, turning her to face the city.
"It's even more beautiful up here," Raven said, leaning into Connor.
"Mhmm," he hummed, kissing her hair gently.
"I'm sorry for what I put you through," Raven said suddenly after moments of silence.
"Don't apologize," Connor said. "It was my choice. I could've dumped you the second I found out about your father. Did I?"
Raven smiled. "I guess not. But still. He killed you, Connor."
"Wait, what? He…" Connor found himself slightly agape.
"And then I sacrifices myself for you. He could kill me if you could be alive."
"See? Why would I want to leave a girl that would do that for me?" he asked. "I would do the same thing for you in a heartbeat."
Raven smiled at the thought and nuzzled closer into Connor.
"That's my girl," he said, wrapping her in a delicate embrace.
For the first time in so long, Raven felt safe. She couldn't remember the last time she felt this safe.
Connor sighed happily. "We can go wherever you want."
Raven said nothing for a little while. Then she spoke up. "Have you ever experienced flying? Like, real flying."
