Medusa couldn't help but chuckle at Trianna’s words and cautiously looked back at her. “You have no idea how long it's been since anyone has even considered… me in that way.” she tried to explain. “Of course, I did put up several walls of my own to keep people away from me but… I just can't believe that a sweet girl like you could ever really like me.”
Trianna tilts her head, and thinks, wondering if she should voice her thoughts and guesses. She decides yes.
"Curse or no curse, I think I'd still consider you in that way." she murmurs. "And I'm really not that sweet."
“Excuse me…” Medusa asked, raising a skeptical brow. “What do you mean “curse”?” she said carefully.
Trianna sighs.
"I know who you are." she says quietly. "And I still like you. Cursed by Athena, yeah? I hear you say her name with such bitterness and remember there's only two women who were cursed by Athena."
Her eyes finally move by themselves, focusing exactly where Medusa's eyes would be, almost like she could see again, but she couldn't. "I figured it out earlier. You hair hissed when I was explaining my past. I didn't believe it at first - hearing someone talk about gods and Olympus like that. Once you started speaking Ancient Greek, I began to wonder."
She stands up and moves next to Medusa.
"Am I right?" she asks softly. "Are you really her?"
Medusa sighed, hearing Trianna basically expose her real identity. “I… I didn't realize I was giving so many hints.” she admitted. “As for my hair, I can't always control it. It does have a mind of its own. Several actually.” she chuckled. “But yes.. I’m Medusa.”
Trianna wraps Medusa in a tight hug.
"Well. I'm sorry for everything that's happened to you. You deserve a happy ending in this day and age, don't you agree?" she murmurs.
Medusa froze for a moment at the embrace before remembering to hug Trianna back, though much more gently.
“Thank you.” she murmured back. “I… I’m not sure if I actually deserve it but it is nice to hear someone say that.”
Trianna shakes her head gently.
"You do." she says firmly, leaning back and giving the other woman a firm look. "I will get you that happy ending."
“Again, thank you, Trianna.” she smiled softly. “Though I have to admit that you are willing to genuinely go with me to Olympus just to call every one of them out on their crap… I never thought I would meet someone who would say the things you have.” Medusa reminded.
Trianna chuckles.
"Sweetheart, you've never met anyone like me before, I can promise you that." she smiles.
“No, you are right.” she nodded. “I have not met anyone like you before in my long life.” Medusa chuckled.
"See?" she grins.
"So. About our plans for Greece. I have the yacht - yeah, I know, fancy but hey if it's going to be a long trip it may as well be comfortable - and I have a captain and a small crew for the ship. I said I'm on indeterminate leave due to family reasons, so I'm allowed to stay in Greece for a month, maybe a month and a half, and still get payed. I'm all packed for the trip and I have my luggage on board right now." she says. "Do you need any help packing?"
“You have a yacht?” she asked in mild surprise. “I hope you don't tell your crew who I am. It's usually easier for people not to know about me and I have plenty of precautions for being around people.” Medusa said somewhere between explaining and assuring. “As for packaging, I haven't started anything more than planning but I think I have everything ready.”
"As of Friday? Yeah." Trianna answers, embarassed. "Oh no, I didn't. I told them I was going with a friend out to mainland Greece and nothing more besides the fake name you gave me."
"Alright; can you be ready by, like, 9 pm tomorrow?" she asks.
“I am impressed.” she admitted. “Oh, thank you. I promise I will try not to turn any of your crew into stone while we are traveling.”
Medusa chuckled and nodded happily. “Yes, I can certainly be ready by then. Where would you like to meet for the trip?” she smiled.
"Oh, hush-" she blushes. "Thanks, appreciate that." she giggles.
"Send me your address, I'll come pick you up." Trianna grins.
Medusa laughed softly. “Though I am curious, how did you go from so much struggle to having enough money to get a yacht?” she asked.
“Alright then.” she smiled back.
"I used my feminine wiles, of course." she teases. "How else?"
She stands up. "Hey, we should go eat somewhere tonight."
“Of course.” she chuckled, letting the topic drop.
“Alright. Where would you like to go?” Medusa asked, standing with Trianna.
Trianna hums.
"There's a nice little restaurant that I frequent on the east side of town." she says. "I'll call someone to come pick us up."
She grabs her phone and whispers into it, sending the message quickly. "Now we just need to wait for a few minutes."
Medusa smiled as Trianna made the arrangements for dinner. “I hope I look alright. Is it a casual restaurant?” she asked, unsure how to feel.
Trianna chuckles. "I wouldn't know how you look. But I usually go with a dress. I wouldn't know about anyone else. As for how casual it is. . . I'm not really sure."
“Ah… Well, I’m not wearing a dress.” she admitted, accepting Trianna’s answer. “But I just hope I don't stand out too much.”
"Eh. If anyone comments I'll deck them." Trianna smiles. "After all, you are. . ."
She pauses, looking for the right word. ". . . in a way, mine."
“Not if I get to them first, darling.” she chuckled, though she didn't really plan to expose herself.
Medusa felt her face warm at the term and raised a brow. “Oh, and how do you figure that?”
