Trianna puffs her chest out proudly. "I'm not sure, but I do anyways."

"Even if you're not sure doesn't mean you can't still try. Even if you don't believe you can, it's always better to try and fail, rather than knowing you never even gave yourself the chance to succeed." she counters.

Medusa shook her head at the normally encouraging words. “No. I mean there is an inarguable fact about myself that no amount of science, medicine, or surgery could ever change. And the only kind of magic that might have a chance is all but out of reach.” she tried to explain. “Not that they would come anywhere near me to even try if they wanted to. But I want to change who I am in spite of it… I just don't know if I can change for the better with this.”

Trianna huffs. "Look, Melanie. Just because the 'magic' you're wanting won't come near you doesn't mean you just give up. No. What you do is, you chase it down like a wolf chasing its prey, and you grab it by the throat. That's how you change if you can't change yourself. You find change and beat it into submission and use it."

Medusa couldn't help but laugh at the comparison. “Well… I am used to being both hunter and hunted.” she admitted, brushing away a stray tear. “Though perhaps in a different sense than what you mean. But that is the most interesting piece of advice I've heard in… a long time.” she smiled softly.

@False-andrew flash_on

Trianna smiles softly. "I promise, it's probably the best piece of advice you've had in a long time."

She hears the sound of fabric rustling against skin, but doesn't comment.

"Do you have a phone?" she asks suddenly.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“Oh. Alright.” she said, accepting the phone and quickly typing in the name she had given, leaving her last name as simply “G”, as well as her number. “Let me know if I chose a tone that you already have for someone else.” she instructed as she looked through the different sounds, understanding why Trianna had asked her to use a unique one.

Trianna grins. "I barely talk to anyone on the phone - less than a quarter of the people I know have a phone."

She stops Melanie on a tone that sounded like a lyre being played - the three strings ringing out a pleasant but melancholy sounding chord.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“Really? I thought everyone had a phone.” Medusa questioned, smiling softly at the sound she and Trianna selected. “I always liked hearing a lyre. It reminds me of home. Though I can't say I was ever a fan of Apollo.” she admitted with a light chuckle.

@False-andrew flash_on

"Not everyone. Then again, these people are very strange, so I'm not surprised." Trianna laughs softly.

Even though she couldn't see the smile, she could hear the smile, and it made her smile. "Apollo is basically an Ancient Greek frat boy."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“People have always been strange.” she smiled at the giggle.

Medusa laughed again but nodded. “You know most would think of Dionysus for that first just because he was the god of wine and pleasure. Though he was the god of fertility first. But I also include Pan in that category.”

@False-andrew flash_on

"They really have." Trianna nods.

"Oh most definitely! But think about it, every myth that Apollo shows up in, he's trying to seduce an Ancient Greek maiden or man or nymph, and most of them turned to shrubs." she snickers.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“I agree.” Medusa nodded. “And I believe he was practically obsessed with the laurel plant for that very reason. He wouldn't let any of the other gods wear it or even touch it.” she said, admittedly bringing up some ancient gossip.

“Pun intended?” she asked, referring to how Hyacinthus had been struck by a discus. “It was a shame though. That such an accident happened like that, even if we did get such a beautiful flower out of it.” Medusa admitted. “Oh, absolutely. So many in the Pantheon were the epitome of jealousy. Even Hera was notorious for her jealousy. Though I can't entirely blame her since Zeus was terrible at monogamy.”

@False-andrew flash_on

Trianna groans but can't help but laugh. "Sure, pun intended."

She nods. "It smells slightly like iron, I think. As an ode to the loss of Hyacinthus' life."

"Zeus was terrible at everything, and I would not hesitate to say that to his face." she snorts.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Medusa chuckled at the joke and Trianna’s reaction.

“Really?” she asked, mildly surprised. “I suppose I never noticed.”

“Challenging authority? Well, you can count me in. I’m not about to let you go face thunder dick without some backup.” she smirked.

@False-andrew flash_on

Trianna tilts her head. "It's really just something I picked up on when I was constantly being exposed to flowers before I lost most of my vision. I used to work in a florist's shop."

She laughs. "More like 'limp thunder' if you ask me. But I couldn't ask you to do that, especially considering we'd need to climb a mountain and cut through the mist."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“Interesting. I never really spent much time around flowers” she admitted. “Did you have to leave because of your vision?”

Medusa raised a brow and smirked confidently. “Darling, I lived in the shadow of that mountain for years, I know the area. And I am much… more than I look.” she pointed out. “I could be your guide. Besides, I have a few things I wouldn't mind saying either and I think I might even have some old Grecian coins that we could use.”

@False-andrew flash_on

"Yes, and also because I got a better offer that was more friendly towards blind people." Trianna chuckles.

"She says, like I can see her." she says with a snicker. "And I suppose you could be - but when would we both have time to go over to Mount Olympus just to give the gods a good tongue lashing?"

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“Ah. That's good.” she nodded.

Medusa blushed at the slip-up. “I’m sorry. I didn't mean to…” she apologized. “As to when would be up to you. I am a self-employed sculptor and have a very flexible schedule. In fact, I may even pick up some new inspiration back in Greece.”

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Medusa let out a sigh of relief and chuckled. “Of course.” she smiled softly.

“If you are serious about this.” she nodded, a little surprised that what she had thought was meant to be a joke was turning into a possibility. “Do you really intend to go through with this? Risking your life just to tell some very powerful beings how terrible they are?”

@False-andrew flash_on

"Yes, I really do. After all, what fun is life if you don't tempt the gods on occassion?" Trianna chuckles. "Besides, my job allows for extensions of vacations if I know I'll be gone longer than I originally thought."
