"I find it boring, I should say. I never held much fascination with the process, but I respect the people that do it for a living. It's hard work." she amends. "Yeah, it really does. Surprisingly, I know how to use a bow and arrow. I want to learn how to fight with a sword, though."
"Oh I think I could take one of those." she jokes. "If I can bend high carbon steel bars with my bare hands, I think I can tear the jaw of a lion off just as easily."
She chuckles. "They hit me whenever I messed up. Not hard enough to leave scars - never hard enough to leave scars. But whenever I lost one of my jobs, whether it be from personal error or they just don't need me where I was working, or whenever I failed to bring home enough food or money, they'd hit me. It taught me discipline and how to work under pressure. It gave me the tools I needed to harden my body so I could protect my family. They never want for anything now. I provide money. They have a nice house in California."
“It can be a little boring sometimes but it's often rewarding.” Medusa smiled. “Well… As it turns out, I know how to use a sword and daggers. My aim is decent but I've never been able to get the right grip on a bow.” she said with a growing smirk.
“Oh, really? Are you perhaps a demigod then?” she quipped playfully. “It's been a long time since there’s been one around.”
Medusa’s eyes widened as Trianna told her story, barely managing to swallow a growing hiss rising from her own throat. Though her snakes clearly expressed their anger. “You don't deserve that.” she said through clenched teeth. “And they certainly don't deserve you. They take the money you earn and treat you like that. Bastards.”
"I suppose. It's just not my thing." Trianna chuckles. "Oh? You'll have to teach me sometime. I'll get practice swords. As for bow and arrow, maybe I can teach you a few things." she replies, with just as big of a smirk.
"Oh, who knows. Maybe I am. After all, my mom has said my real dad supposedly died a month before I was born." she smiles.
She definitely hears the snakes hiss, and barely keeps herself from raising an eyebrow or indicating that she'd heard them. "It's fine. After all, I wouldn't be who I am today without them. I forgave them a while ago."
“That sounds like a deal.” she nodded, accepting the offer.
Medusa raised a brow at that information and shrugged. “Then… I’d say it could be possible. Maybe I can help you figure out which one is your father. And if you are, then it will affect our trip.” she added. Though the question was if the trip would be easier or more difficult.
“Perhaps not but I still think you deserve better.” she sighed, trying to calm down. “However, I am not so forgiving and have been known to hold a grudge for a long time.” she admitted since even now she was unsure if she was still mad at Athena for her curse.
Triann chuckles. "Alright."
"Eh, I don't really care. Whoever it is, I'll probably be slapping and insulting anyways." she shrugs. "If I am a demigod, it's between Ares, Hephaestus and Zeus honestly, considering my mom was a very strong-willed, brave and beautiful woman when she had me. Or so I'm told."
"I had all I could get. You must remember, we were a poor family. Nearly homesless most of the time." she chuckles.
At Medusa's last comment, Trianna grin. "Like against Athena?"
“Well, if it's any of those three, I hope it's Hephaestus. He was actually pretty decent as far as the Greek gods go. And he managed to get an apology out of Hera of all people.” she laughed. “I’m sure you can imagine how hard that is.”
“Still, that's no excuse for their behavior.” she pointed out. “I've seen people in similar situations before and all they had was love for each other.”
Medusa blinked at the question, caught off guard, before shrugging. “I… I don't know. Why do you bring her up in this?”
"I'm not very good with making things, so I doubt it's him." she laughs. "But you're right, I would hope it's him out of anyone."
"I suppose. . ." she hums, thinking.
Trianna chuckles. "No particular reason. . . just curious."
She hummed thoughtfully. “But you are very strong, and I'm willing to guess that you have not tried working with metal as a blacksmith. You may have hidden talents that you haven't tried yet.”
“Hey…” she started softly, hesitantly reaching her hand towards Trianna. “Are you ok?”
“It's a bit of an odd example is all.” she said, trying to brush off the current topic.
Trianna chuckles. "True enough. I may try my hand at forging while we're in Greece."
She jumps slightly startled out of her thoughts by Medusa's voice. She smiles. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking."
"I suppose it would be, except we're also going to slap some gods. So it makes me expand my thoughts on what 'weird' classifies as." she grins.
“Alright.” she smiled. “It could be interesting but I'm sure they still have some forges open.”
She nodded at the assurance. “About what?” she asked. “Sorry for startling you.”
Medusa couldn't help but let out a soft laugh and shake her head. “You have a point. I never thought I would actually be doing something like this so I should probably reevaluate my thoughts too.” she teased.
Trianna nods. "I'll make you something."
"Life. Really, mainly about you." she chuckles.
"See? I'm very smart." she jokes.
“You don't have to do that.” she replied with a faint blush.
She arched a brow and smirked a little. “What about me?”
“I never said that you were not.” she smiled. “I just wasn't expecting that kind of question.”
"I want to, though. Besides, it will serve as practice." she grins, knowing the other girl had blushed even without her eyesight.
"Oh, nothing, really. Just wondering if your eyes are as pretty as your voice." she says casually.
"Then ask me an unexpected question." she grins.
“Oh, alright. If it's for practice.” she relents with a smile.
Her blush darkened at the comment. It had been a long time since anyone called her pretty. “I… I wouldn't know.” she replied, clearing her throat. “I do know that they are a pale shade of green. Though there is a ring of brown on the outer edge. But not many people see that.” she added with a light scoff considering her situation.
“Hmm… Have you ever liked someone even though you haven't spent much time with them?” she asked with a teasing smirk.
"Thank you." she laughs.
"Well, to be fair, I don't see much of anything." she jokes. "But I did enjoy the color green. It was such a vibrant color. I miss it."
Trianna tilts her head, thinking for only a moment. "Yes."
Medusa let herself laugh at the joke and nodded. “Fair enough.” And probably for the best… “I’m sorry.” she said gently, not really sure what else to say.
“Oh?” she grinned, leaning forward. “What did you like about them?”
"It's fine. Maybe I can insult one of the gods so bad that they decide to give me my eyesight back out of fear of my words." she jokes.
"Her voice. Her sense of humour. Her words." she smiles.
“Hmmm… And which one would you insult to accomplish that?” she asked. “I’m sure you know that Apollo was the god of healing and he could certainly be knocked down a few pegs.” she chuckled.
“How lovely.” Medusa smiled. “May I ask what happened between the two of you?”
"Oh, I definitely have some words for him, don't you worry." she giggles.
"Oh, we're going on a trip to Greece next week." she smiles, waiting for it to sink in.
“Oh, I can't wait to hear them.” she giggled excitedly.
“You…” Medusa stammered, feeling her face turn bright red. “Me?” she asked, unable to believe that Trianna was being serious.
She laughs. "Oh, you'll enjoy it then."
Trianna turns her head, pretending like she was looking around, before turning to face Medusa again, smiling teasingly at the other woman. "Well, I certainly don't think there's anyone else I've made plans with to go to Greece. So yeah, I think so."
“I wonder what would happen if you mentioned Icarus…” she commented.
Medusa covered her face at the confirmation and bit her tongue to keep quiet. “Don't tease me. Please.” she begged. “I… Just please.”
"I'm sure all Icarus wanted was some divine dick." she giggles.
Trianna laughs. "Why? Is there any particular reason?"
“Probably.” she nodded. “And the gods aren't known for their sympathy or feeling sorry for a problem they caused.”
Medusa hummed affirmatively. “Let's just say that I've been hurt before and I haven't been in a relationship since.” she admitted.
"Exactly." she chuckles.
"The only way you'll get hurt around me is if you literally fall." she chuckles.
