Rykah had tracked down another of his signature hoodies, and grabbed his bag as he headed for the cafe. He had arrived a little bit earlier than necessary, and thus purchased a hot chocolate, and settled down to work on a sketch from earlier.
Glenn ordered a black coffee and picked his way over to where Rykah was sitting, plopping down into the armchair next to him. "Sorry I'm late! I lost track of time getting ready and," he paused, getting a look at Rykah's art for the first time. "That's really pretty!"
Rykah blushed at the compliment on his artwork, a detailed flower design. "Th-thanks…" he murmured, his wings floofing up in embarrassment.
Glenn looked at the art for a few more seconds before turning back to Rykah with a soft smile. "No problem!" After sitting in silence for a few awkward moments, Glenn tried to grasp for a conversation starter. "Um, it's really great to see you again. Did you have any trouble getting home last night?"
"No trouble, it was fairly quiet.." he said softly, his shy nature coming through even more as he carefully shaded in another leaf.
"Good." Oh no! This was weird, wasn't it? What were they even supposed to talk about? Sure, they were soulmates, but that didn't mean Glenn knew how to hold a conversation. "Hey, do you wanna get out of here? Like, take a walk around the city or something?"
Rykah looked up at him, "Okay… that sounds like a better idea…" he said softly, wishing he wasn't so awkward.
"Yeah." Glenn hopped to his feet, picking up his coffee and patiently waiting for Rykah by the door. "Sorry I'm not exactly a striking conversationalist. It's… been a while since I've done this."
Rykah followed after a moment, keeping his wings close to his sides as he slipped outside, tail held off the ground.
They walked in silence for a few minutes before it began to grate on Glenn's nerves. His brain was screaming that he should talk and end this cursed silence, but he had no idea what to say. "Want to play the questions game? I know it sounds kinda weird, but it might get us talking about… something."
Rykah looked up, "Sure… that'd probably be a good idea actually…" he sighed, "Sorry I'm so awkward…"
Glenn laughed, placing what he hoped was a comforting hand on Rykah's shoulder. "No, it's fine! Conversation isn't exactly my strong suit either… You know how to play, right?"
Rykah nodded, giving the other a soft smile as they walked, his ears held low under his hood.
"Cool! Then I'll go first! Um…" Glenn wracked his brain for a question, brightening as he came up with something "What's something people do that really annoys you?"
"Ask if I can fly or not" he said softly, looking back at him.
"Yeah, I guess that could get old after a while," Glenn mused, pushing down his urge to ask because Rykah had just told him he found it annoying. "Now it's your turn to ask! Anything you wanna know about me?"
"Uhm.. favourite color?" he asked shyly.
"Red! Or… maybe yellow," Glenn answered. "Actually, anything bright is really nice."
Rykah smiled, noting the other's answer.
"Um… Do you have any pets? I technically have Salem- she's my familiar- but I think she's too independent to really count."
"No, a pet would get into my paints, which are the good kind, but also toxic.." he said.
(My sisters are having a party and I gtg socialize. I'll probs be back around 2)
(I'm back! sorry for the wait)
"Oh, that sucks. I love Salem and I can't imagine what I'd do if she got sick," Glenn replied, tucking his hands into his pockets. "But anyways, time for your next question."
"Uhm.. Favourite hobby?" he asked quietly.
