Rykah shrugged, given the history behind the two types of elements, it shouldn't be possible for me to use either.. but like I said, It's something I inherited from my dad" he said with a shrug,

Glenn nodded. His family was a mess of different kinds of magic, so he understood how weird they could get. "When I was little, my mom didn't think I'd have any magic because she didn't either. She always kind of resented me after mine manifested. Oh god, I'm sorry for making this so sad! I-" he was cut off by the whistle of the tea kettle.

Rykah hummed, "It's okay…" he murmured, getting up to finish making the tea. He carefully handed the other his tea, his wings held tight to his sides.

Glenn cupped his mug of tea happily, savoring the warmth leeching into his hands. The only thing he'd had in weeks was takeout and coffee, so this was basically a tiny cup of heaven. As he sipped at his drink, his hands stopped shaking so much, and he let out a quiet yawn. "I know I've already said it, but thank you. For all of this. I haven't had someone over in ages and talking with you is just… just really nice. I'm glad I got a guy like you as my soulmate."

Rykah smiled, sipping at his tea. "I just can't believe it happened so suddenly." He said shyly.

Glenn huffed out a laugh. "Me neither. It still doesn't feel real to me. I mean, I've imagined today hundreds of times, and I still can't believe… I mean, to be really honest, I was starting to doubt it would ever happen. You can only hear your words so many times before…" He made a gesture like he was pushing something away from himself.

Rykah tilted his head curiously, before realizing what he meant, "I guess those are pretty common words…" he said softly.

Glenn nodded. "Yeah. Every time I bumped into someone it was like 'are you the one!?' and then the inevitable 'no'. Kinda sucked" Was that too harsh? He didn't want Rykah to feel like he was bitter or anything! In a fit of half exhausted senselessness, he set down his tea and grabbed Rykah's hands in his own. "But I was so happy when I found out you were my soulmate! You're so… so pretty and nice and I'm glad I didn't mess this up."

Rykah couldnt help blushing furiously as the other spoke, wanting to hide behind his wings and hug the other simultaneously.

Glenn blushed as Rykah did, both amazed that he'd been so tooth rottingly sweet and embarrassed that he'd said that to someone who he'd met a couple of hours ago. He hadn't been this affectionate with anyone! Dimly he realized he was still holding Rykah's hands, which he dropped immediately. The world was starting to get pleasantly hazy, hazy enough that Glenn could just fall asleep right here.

Rykah blushed furiously, looking up at him. "Hey, you sure you're alright?" He asked again.

(darn! wish I could help but all I do is stay up late enough that I get tired and then suffer and that's not really gonna do much)

Glenn hummed an affirmative before he faceplanted spectacularly into the table. Luckily his tea wasn't right in front of him so he didn't go crashing into it and end up with a ruined cup.

Rykah started when the other fell, his eyes widening in surprise. "Are you okay?!" He asked again.

(I have no room to judge, tbh. are you doing anything other tan this rp rn? bc I'm listening to assassins the musical and it's a beautiful thing.)

Glenn only managed a confused mumble, burrowing his head into his arms as he shielded his eyes from the light.
