(I know right. This is going pretty smooth)
Rykah nodded, making sure the other was able to sit down, before moving to the kitchen to set the kettle on, and set out the rest of what was needed to make the tea before wandering out into the living room again, tail flicking.
(Yep!)
Glenn was nodding off at the table until he realized Rykah had wandered out of the kitchen. While there definitely wasn't anything weird in his apartment, he didn't feel comfortable letting Rykah just wander around in his space. Not since he'd dated Arin. "Rykah! Don't!" Fuck. was that too rude? "I mean… can you come back?"
Rykah came back sheepishly, "Sorry…" he said shyly, wanting to hide in his hoodie, even though he was still curious about the other.
(oh yeah, I've been meaning to ask: What timezone are you in? I'm on central daylight time)
(It's 8:45 PM for me at the moment)
(I also don't always sleep until later than normal)
Glenn winced at Rykah's clear embarrassment. He didn't want to make Rykah sad or anything, just panicked when he wandered off. "No, it's fine! I just… I don't know if I really know you yet and I haven't really had anyone over in a while and honestly, I've never been that comfortable around others," Was he babbling? Shit, he was totally babbling! "And… you seem really great. But… yeah."
(it's only 7:45 for me, and I also tend to stay up late bc my brain hates me)
Rykah nodded, "It's okay.. I shouldn't have wandered…" he said softly, tail wrapping around his leg.
(SAAAME!!))
Glenn sighed, wishing he could figure out how to get his point across without hurting Rykah. He couldn't, so he decided to try and divert the conversation. "We were going to make some tea right? Maybe you can brew some and we can… talk. I mean, I think we should probably get to know each other since we're soulmates."
(tbh the only reason I write is bc I can't sleep and I wanna do something)
(Honestly same! Also I gtg shower be back in a bit)
(see ya :)
Rykah nodded, "I already put the kettle on…" he said, his shy nature showing more with every second.
(Welcome back.)
Glenn blinked a few times, looking over to the kettle and noticing that it was definitely on. Was he ever going to stop looking like a dumbass? "I see. Then I guess we skip straight to talking. I'm Glenn… which you already know," Stupid! This was so stupid! "And I'm a witch. Divination mostly, but I dabble in other magic. I read, probably way too much, and… I guess I'm not the best at taking care of myself. How about you?"
"Uhm… I'm usually just around, and living off of my art." He said shyly, "I do have magic abilities that I inherited from my dad, but I don't have a use for them." He shrugged, not sure what else to say.
(You're a lifesaver rn)
"Really?" Glenn perked up a bit at the mention of magic. He adored magic and learning about new forms and manifestations of it always put him in a great mood. "What kind? I mean… if that's not too personal."
(Aw, thanks! Can I ask why?)
"Fire based harmony and chaos… It's kinda annoying.." said Rykah softly, the topic not being too uncomfortable.
(Just bored, and wide awake, when I should be sleeping… as usual)
(I also get easily distracted, which is why I take so long)
Glenn perked up considerably as Rykah answered, seeming a bit more relaxed in this conversation. Maybe this was proof that Glenn wasn't a total failure of a soulmate. "Harmony and chaos? That sounds… crazy. I mean, I just have one element and it still knocks me out sometimes. I can't imagine how you manage."
