Rykah nodded, "I think I could cover anything else, I mean, I have some leftover paint from the last one, but it's not much…"
Rykah nodded, "I think I could cover anything else, I mean, I have some leftover paint from the last one, but it's not much…"
"That's fine! You're already offering to paint my wall, you don't need to supply all the materials too," Glenn assured, leaning forward to gently grab Rykah's hands. He was blushing softly. "Um, it means a lot to me, that you'd offer to do that. So… thank you."
Rykah shrugged, "You're welcome…" he said shyly.
Glenn squeezed Rykah's hands once and then dropped them, reaching back to his taco with a sappy smile. "… so, when are you free? I mean, I have work this week, but I get off at 5 and my weekends are pretty much always open."
"I'm free almost anytime…" said Rykah, "Like I said, I lve off my art.."
Glenn nodded, trying to work out some kind of schedule for getting the mural painted. "Then, maybe you can come over tomorrow at 6? I'll have some food, so we can eat dinner and then get painting. Oh, but first you need to tell me what kind of paint I should buy!"
"Hmm…. I need to know what I'm painting first" said Rykah, "Maybe have tomorrow be for brainstorming? I mean, it is your wall…"
Glenn nodded, feeling a bit stupid for not remembering that they needed to plan. "You're right! Planning first, painting later."
Rykah giggled, "That and we may need to clean out a space too" he said.
"Oh, definitely! I was thinking the mural could be on the wall across from my bed, that way I can see it before I go to bed and stuff, but I have my dresser right in front of it," Glenn said, already mentally reconfiguring his room around the new addition.
"We'll figure it out later…" said Rykah.
"Okay!" Glenn nodded once, trying to keep too many specifics from crowding is thoughts. "Okay, then we'll meet tomorrow at 6 and work everything out?"
Rykah nodded, smiling.
"Great!, I'll see you-" Glenn was interrupted when his phone rang loudly, startling him out of the quiet conversation. "Shoot! Just let me answer this!" He picked up the phone, groaning when he realized who was calling. Hunter. Of course. Because he needed this piece of shit's problems in his life.
Rykah nodded, sitting back quietly to let the other take the call.
Glenn answered the call, grimacing as Hunter decided to shout into the phone. It was nearly incoherent for a few seconds before he heard some kind of rustling and then Kat was talking into the phone instead of her deadbeat brother.
"Hey G! I'm really sorry about this, but can you let Hunter crash at your place for a while? I know it's sudden but he just got evicted and he really needs a place to stay." She sounded harried, and Glenn knew he couldn't just leave her to deal with this by herself.
With a sharp frown, he answered. "Fine, but only for a week. And only if he promises to behave." Kat agreed, and soon he was shoving his phone into his pocket and putting his bowl in the sink.
"I'm so sorry Rykah, but my sister's dropping off my brother and I need to get home before he does. Do you mind if I go?" He really didn't want to leave, but if Hunter got to his apartment before he did… well… nothing good would come of it.
Rykah nodded, "Of course…" he said softly, hiding his disappointment that the other had to go, his ears drooping under his hood.
Glenn winced, recognizing the look of sadness on Rykah's face. Before he could think about it too hard, he pulled Rykah into a brief hug and hurried out the door.
Rykah blinked in surprise at the hug, blushing furiously as he watched the other leave.
Glenn walked home quickly, sighing in relief when he realized nobody was home but him. He quickly began preparing the house for Hurricane Hunter, grabbing valuables and prized possessions and hiding them in the back of his closet. The last thing he needed was to clean up a broken vase because his brother didn't know how to control himself.
(wanna skip to the next day, or nah?)
(We can skip)
Rykah sighed, cleaning up after lunch aftetr the other left, before flopping on the floor to ponder everything.
(okay, cool)
Well, today had been pretty bad, but things were looking up now that Hunter was passed out on the couch and Rykah was coming over. Glenn had been hovering over his phone for a few minutes, wondering if it would be okay for him to text Rykah and ask if he was on his way over.
Rykah had grabbed a few sketchpads, and a pencil case before heading out, wearing yet another hoodie. Sighing he slipped out the door, heading for the other's place.
Glenn glanced at his brother, making sure he really was asleep before texting a quick are you on your way over?
Rykah felt his phone bu and picked it up, smiling when he saw Glenn's text.
Just headed out! See u soon! he sent back, before picking up his pace. He wasn't sure why but he'd been looking forward to this all day.
