Ellis visibly winced. "…oh…" he said faintly, keeping his face buried in Korou's fur, eyes closed.
Ellis visibly winced. "…oh…" he said faintly, keeping his face buried in Korou's fur, eyes closed.
"And he kept talking about half breeds and I was like 'what the hell do you have against people who aren't human?' and… you know… he was being kind of an ass, things got sorta heated, so I left."
"He doesn't have anything against people who aren't human. Just against people who are half-breeds." he replied quietly.
"Well, who cares? How you're born doesn't define who you are." Lloyd sighed softly.
"It…kind of does." he replied, not looking at Lloyd.
"Not your personality. What you are can't force you to be like anything personality wise."
He shrugged slightly. "Yeah, I guess so."
"He was just pissing me off… I don't normally get riled up like that."
He shrugged again. "I guess so."
"Is he always like this?"
"I…" he let out a breath. "I don't know."
"Well, was he like this back at your place?"
"His place. Not mine. And…I guess." he shrugged a little, still cuddled into Korou.
"Well, you know him better than I do. I don't know if this is just a fluke." Kouru whined softly.
He shrugged his shoulders again. "It's…I…" he didn't want to say anything bad.
"It's what?" Lloyd asked.
"It's pretty normal." he replied, still snuggled with the dog.
Lloyd nodded. "I don't know how good of a leader he'd be if he's so close minded."
"Oh he's a fine leader, don't worry. Plus most of the laws back up his standpoint anyways." He shrugged his shoulders.
Lloyd sighed softly. "But you can't always follow all the rules to the letter. It sounds good in concept, but the people always hate it, and that's what really matters."
He laughed, soft and bitter. "The laws say that I can't get married, Lloyd. I can't have kids. I mean I can't anyways, I'm…sterile as a mule, but…still. I'm legally not allowed to. I can't have higher jobs or jobs that require secrecy, like government positions. There are a lot of things I'm not allowed to do because of being a half-breed." He didn't look at Lloyd.
Lloyd sighed again and ran his fingers through his hair. "I'm gonna change that when I'm king. Technically speaking, I'm in higher authority than Anton, so he can't stop me."
Ellis snorted a little. "Yeah, good luck with that. I mean, at least people like me aren't killed at birth anymore, right? We're supposed to be grateful for that. That we've been allowed to live."
"You deserve better." Lloyd growled, crossing his arms. "When I'm king, I can fix that, and I intend to."
He snorted slightly. "Yeah, well. Good luck." he replied, shaking his head.
