Simon woke up the next day with a loud gasp. To him, the nightmare had just finished. He took in a rattling breath, slowly sitting up. His body didn’t feel any different so he didn’t suspect a thing.

((XD you good bro?))
(No I am Not Good.)
((Me neither :’) ))
The trinket looked over when Simon finally awoke.
What's wrong? She asked, knowing full well what was. Still, she had to play along, follow the rules. She couldn't risk going through being locked away in her mind again…
“I-I…” he rubbed his head a bit in confusion, still trying to process what all had happened. “J-Just a bad dream I guess…” he said, shuddering.
Do… You want to talk about it? The trinket spoke tentatively, not wanting to upset Simon. If she did, would he leave her in a drawer somewhere? Give her back? … Break her?
“Not really….” Simon said softly, bringing his knees up to his chest. He leaned over, gently picking her up.
((Heyyy just letting you know I’m going to be offline for most of the night, I’ll reply whenever I can))
(Ah, okay! Thanks for letting me know!)
The trinket didn't feel much relieved when Simon picked her up, but she kept herself calm.
Then I won't ask you to. Do you want to talk about something else to get your mind off it?
He nodded. “That’d be nice….” he said, closing his eyes. He cradled her gently in his hands the same way he always did.
This, this was nice. The trinket relaxed more an more as Simon held her. She would be okay. She only wished she could say the same of Simon.
I… I've never told you my name, have I? she asked.
He shook his head. “I didn’t want to ask before since Astral didn’t know we were talking and I didn’t want to accidentally use your name around him.”
That would have made sense… But we don't have to worry about that anymore, right? He knows now. Despite how much she hated it, it wouldn't change. She knew it out hey in danger now, with house much Simon showed he cared about her, but it was okay.
“Yeah…I’m still really sorry that happened by the way…” he did feel bad about it, knowing he’d put her at risk with his carelessness.
It couldn't be helped. Neither of us knew he was listening. Besides… You're actions did save me, in the end. The trinket let out a soft breath. Here, it was always a matter of time before you were broken too much, and just used for scrap parts.
“I’m glad I did..I kind of freaked out honestly, otherwise I don’t think I ever would have approached Astral like that.”
Yeah… Thank you, for caring. The trinket let out a soft sigh. It was more than she'd had in a long time.
“So what is your name?” He asked excitedly, eager to know. “Ya know, you’re like…one of my first friends.”
The trinket blinked to herself in surprise.
Mia, she said softly. And… You're one of my first too. She smiled on the inside, the only place she could.
“Mia..” he smiled. “That’s really pretty. Well Mia it’s very nice to meet you. And I guess technically you’re my first friend. Nobody else could see my other first friend…so I guess he wasn’t actually real.”
((in reality it was a demon that he accidentally summoned when he was like…eight))
(oh shoot that's actually pretty cool (possible future plot point..?))
Really? Mia knew she was grinning to herself. Well, I'm glad I'm your friend! You are a really nice person. He didn't deserve any of this.
((oh yeah most definitely ;) ))
“I’m glad you’re my friend too.” He blushed pleasantly at the compliment. “Thank you..no one really says that about me.”
Which is a shame, that no one sees it. Mia was warm, an settled in Simon's hands contently. She was glad Simon seemed to have recovered from the night before, even if he thought it was only a dream.
Since he’d been enjoying talking with her so much, he’d pretty much completely forgotten about the dream. And his body had no memory of how much he’d screamed and cried the whole night. “T-thank you..” He smiled.
