"August, please. You're being ridiculous!" she cried.

August hung up. No use talking. "Let's go.", he told Kate urgently.

"Go where?" Her eyes were sharp.

"To my apartment! We can't let anyone get you!", he said quickly.

She studied him. "Who was on the phone?"

"I dunno.", he lied. He stayed by her side.

"Yes you do," she argued.

"Here we are.", He pointed at his apartment building. "Be careful. This is where they got you."

She gripped his arm very tightly all of a sudden. "Oh my God…"

"What?!" His heart raced. Where are they? I'm going to get my revenge!

"Inside, inside, inside," she said quickly, pulling him with her. "Now."

August quickly took her hand and ran with her to get inside. He knew better than to ask yet.

She ducked inside the lobby of the building and tried to catch her breath.

"What is it?!", he automatically said.

She didn't respond, just reached across her body with her left hand and grabbed her right forearm.

"What is it?!", he said panicky. He paid attention to what she was doing.

She looked over at him. "You have to run," she hissed.

"You have to come with me. I'm not leaving you." It was true. He'd be taken by them before he left her again.

"No, you have to run. Trust me," she said quietly.

"No, you run.", he told her.

"I can't," she replied sadly. "Go. Please. I promise it'll be alright, you have to trust me."

"No!", he yelled. There was an intensity in his eyes.

"Go now or they'll get you too!" She cupped his face with her hand and kissed him softly. "Go," she whispered against his lips.
