"Not really, but I can." Rowan shrugged. "Usually I sleep in so that I've got just enough time to get ready, so I don't eat."
"Not really, but I can." Rowan shrugged. "Usually I sleep in so that I've got just enough time to get ready, so I don't eat."
"Yeah, fair enough. I normally do the same thing, just wanted to give a good impression this time." Damien clicked his tongue, laughing a little bit.
"Makes sense." Rowan yawned a bit and looked over at the clock. "Should we head out?"
"Yeah, wouldn't hurt." Damien dug two cereal bars out of the pantry, stuffing them in his pocket for when they were in the car. "You need me to get your backpack, or are you good?"
"Um… I can get it." Rowan grabbed his backpack and carefully put it on. "Alright, let's go."
Damien opened the door, letting Rowan out first before leaving the house. "You excited to get back?"
"Not in the slightest, but it beats being here or in a hospital all day." Rowan laughed weakly and left the house.
"Fair enough." Damien opened the car door for Rowan, going around to hop in on his own side. "Bet you're gonna do fine, though."
"Hopefully." Rowan climbed into the car with a soft sigh. "I'm sure gonna try my damnedest."
"Yeah, man. You'll be okay." Damien looked over at him, reaching over to ruffle his hair again before starting up the car. "You want music?"
"Yeah, sure." Rowan flushed a bit when Damien touched his hair and looked out the window to try and hide it.
"Cool, cool. Alright." Damien turned on the radio, keeping the volume fairly low still. "
"Um… are there any important things pertaining to school that I should know?" He asked.
(sorry, i'm probably not gonna be massively active tonight!)
"Uhh- not really. Except Ms Reynolds said there might be a pop quiz today or tomorrow." History. Easy teacher, but he still figured it would be a good thing to tell Rowan.
(Np ^^)
"Maybe she won't make me take it since I haven't been there…" Rowan sighed. "I don't know what to tell the teachers… I don't think they know why I was gone."
"She's not going to. She's not a bitch. Plus, we started a whole new section, sooo…" Damien shrugged. "But you need a note for the office, don't you? Say it was a medical emergency. I think the hospital should've notified them, though?"
"Probably, yeah… I don't remember being given a note, but I was kinda out of it when we left." Rowan sighed softly.
"Yeah. Maybe they emailed the office or somethin'. Won't hurt to check." Admittedly, Damien had zero idea how that process would work. At all.
"Okay… I really don't wanna have to explain my situation to anyone…" Rowan sighed.
"Uhh- you don't have to. Like- I don't think the school is gonna ask why. I don't know if they're even allowed to do that." Damien thought for a moment. "If the hospital didn't email them, I can probably go back for a note, since I signed you in and out."
Rowan nodded a bit. "I just… um… I don't know how comfortable I am talking about it… even with you, and you were there for the whole thing."
Damien came to a stop at a red light. "Dude, Ro– I get it. You don't have to tell anyone."
Rowan nodded again. "I'd rather forget it happened entirely, but I think that'll be harder…"
He sighed. "Yeah. Look, man, I dunno. I'm not trying to shut you down, but I told you before, and I'll tell you again. I don't know how to deal with this. I'm sorry."
"Sorry, sorry, I know… it's my fault, really. I know you don't have the answers." Rowan sighed. "I'll leave you alone about it."
