I rolled my eyes playfully and scooted sideways into his lap. "Better, love?"
I rolled my eyes playfully and scooted sideways into his lap. "Better, love?"
I smiled at her. “Perfect.”
Vivian pretended to gag. “Stop making eyes at each other!”
"You'll understand when you meet the right person~" I hummed playfully and began parting her hair into several separate segments.
“Which she won’t any time soon,” I muttered under my breath. Vivian stuck her tongue at me.
"Be nice," I chided, leaning back against his chest. "Or I won't kiss you for the rest of the day."
“She’s my little sister and she’s eleven,” I retorted. “She won’t be getting a boyfriend until she’s fifteen at most.”
I raised an eyebrow. "Or fourteen. And she can like people before she's that old. Right, Vivian?"
“Of course!” Vivian exclaimed just as I sighed.
“No boyfriends until you’re fifteen,” I reminded her and she pouted.
I winked at Vivian and cut Colton off in a stage-whisper. "t's okay, you can talk to me about boys when he's not around."
”I will,” Vivian whispered back and I rolled my eyes.
“Very funny, you two,” I muttered.
"I agree, Cole, it is very funny," I teased lightly, tucking a few flowers through the strands of Vivian's dark hair.
“Just wait until we’re alone, love,” I muttered under my breath. “I’ll show you what’s funny.”
Vivian shot me a glare. “You aren’t going to do anything to her, Cole. I like her. Don’t touch her.”
Heat and colour flooded my face. "N-No, it's fine," I hastened to tell Vivian, assuming she was still….. innocent. "It's probably not what you think it is."
“But he’s going to be harder on you during fencing,” she pouted. “Aren’t you, Cole?”
I shot her a smirk.
I nearly choked on my own saliva. "Er.. yeah. That. It's fine. I don't mind…. fencing."
“Yeah, she doesn’t,” I smiled innocently. “Now hurry up, you two.”
I got to work, suddenly very eager to be alone with Colton again, and soon enough, my deft fingers had left Vivian's hair in an elegant half-up braided style that was speckled with the same wildflowers as her brother's.
I chuckled at her eagerness to finish. Once she was done, Vivian looked extremely happy.
“Thank you,” she breathed out. “I think I’m going to now, but I won’t speak a word of this with my parents.”
"Anytime," I responded with a smile. Squeezing the younger girl's shoulder, I leaned back against Colton. "And thank you, we really appreciate it. See you soon!"
“Goodbye, Isabella,” she waved before running off, satisfied with her hair. I turned towards Elle and offered her a smirk.
“So, she likes you,” I said to her. “Though she prefers blondes for me.”
I flushed lightly and shifted in his lap, turning until I was facing him and my legs were wrapped loosely around his waist. "The irony… she's cute, though. Looks like you."
I caressed her cheek, chuckling. My other hand squeezed her thigh tightly. “Doesn’t she? Though she acts like that, she used to follow me like crazy.”
I buried my face in his shoulder in a failed attempt to hide how flustered I was. "Still—Still adorable. Cheeky, too. I'm glad–I'm glad she liked me."
“She was on good behavior,” I chuckled, patting her on the head in adoration. Why was she so cute? “But there was no way she wouldn’t have liked you.”
"If you say so…" I murmured against his skin, tightening my legs around his middle. "Do you like your hair?"
