Kesari huffed a laugh, nodding. "Yeah, how we met. It's an odd story." She looked down at her arm, where her own mark was. "And…yeah, he is."
Kesari huffed a laugh, nodding. "Yeah, how we met. It's an odd story." She looked down at her arm, where her own mark was. "And…yeah, he is."
Tempest glared at her brother, eyes glowing. "Well then, I hope you don't mind me."
She marched over to her brother, who sat by a fountain. She shoved a witch off her brother's lap. Aquarius glared at her, until a wave of water, shaped like a fist, smashed him into the water.
Kesari blinked, taking a step towards the commotion, which was drawing the attention of the other guests. "Tempest, what-"
Tempest started yelling at Aquarius in a strange, musical language. Aquarius, looking very sober, and more than a little ashamed, ducked his head.
Kesari picked her way through the gathering people to them, looking incredibly confused and slightly worried. She stopped, just in the outer ring, watching.
Tempest pointed to Kesaru, then to the other witches. She was still yelling at him, some of her sirenspeak creeping into her talk. Aquarius winced. Tempest finished by slamming her brother into the wall.
"Woah woah woah." Kesari stepped forward then, hands up in the air through habit, making her look less threatening. Not that it was exactly needed. "Tempest, whatever is going on, is there any way you can manage it without violence?"
Tempest shot the woman a look, then spoke quietly to her brother. She pointed to Kesari. Aquarius stood, apparently unharmed. Tempest then smiled sweetly at the witches who had been on her brother. "I'm sorry, but he's taken. You'll have to find some other guy to fit your whorey needs."
Aquarius winced, moving over to Kesari. "Sorry."
Kesari just looked more confused, looking from Aquarius, to Tempest, and then around at the other witches. "Why-why are you apologizing?"
"For flirting with other witches," he muttered, not looking at her. Tempest stood behind him, hands on hips.
"What-is that what that was about?" She looked to Tempest for confirmation, eyes widening. "That really has nothing to do with me, honestly." She said quickly, shaking her head. The mark on her arm almost grew warm, in her mind, pointing out the painfully obvious lie that she seemed to believe. "He's allowed to flirt with anyone, if that's what he wants to do."
Tempest rolled her eyes. "Miakon," she muttered.
Aquarius shot her a look. "Language." He sighed. "I am sorry, though."
"But you don't-have to apologize." Kesari shook her head, almost looking frantic. She had never placed much stock in the soulmate thing, and she definitely didn't want to be the reason someone's life was upended.
Aquarius glanced at her, eyes sad, and then walked away. If she didn't want to be his soulmate… well…
"Aquarius-" Kesari paused, shaking her head. They needed to talk about it. He didn't seem like the type to want to buy into this. But she sighed, turning to go. She was about done with this whole ball, that was for sure.
Tempest glared at him. "You messed it all up."
"I messed it up?"
Kesari shook her head, fiddling with one of her rings she'd been convinced to wear. Nice one. Your first possible chance at love, and you blew it. This is why nothing ever works out. She lost herself in her thoughts, making her way through the middle of the crowded room, towards the doors.
Aquarius sighed and walked away. He wanted to leave, and this place was too full of overly-touchy magic girls.
((Would this be when they should get kidnapped? If we still want to do that?))
(YEah.)
There was a shout from somewhere by the door, catching Kesari's attention instantly. Something was wrong.
Aquarius jerked his head up. He felt something crash down on his head, and everything went black.
As she slipped through the crowd, towards the source of the noise, she felt something prick her arm. You weren't paying attention. Was her last thought, as her limbs grew heavy.
Aquarius woke in a dark room. He looked around, confused. He groaned. Where was he?
Kesari had been struggling against the effects of the drugs for the past hour, slowly managing to push the toxins out using her magic and the small cut she'd managed to make on her palm using her nails. She hadn't taken stock of her surroundings, going straight for movement instead, so that she could get out of the binds tying her to the chair.
