Aquarius glanced around and spotted Kesari. "What?" He asked. "Where are we?"
Aquarius glanced around and spotted Kesari. "What?" He asked. "Where are we?"
"Don't know." Kesari grit out, the red in her eyes glowing eerily in the dim lighting. She was almost a different person now, more the soldier she'd been for years than the Kesari Aquarius knew.
Aquarius shivered at her tone. "Okay…" He managed to untie the ropes that bound him, standing. His muscles had cramped, and he was sore all over.
"There's a knife strapped to my left leg." Kesari said, managing to push the last of the toxins from her bloodstream. "Take it while I get out of these."
Aquarius pulled the knife and held it awkwardly.
Tense and twist. Kesari was out of the bindings in no time, rolling her shoulders. "You look like you've never held a knife." She said as she stood, holding out her hand for the knife.
“I have,” Aquarius said with a smal laugh. “My preferred weapon, though, is a sword. More reach.”
"And yet, more chance to fuck up." Kesari said, bunching up the fabric of her dress and sawing it of to somewhere around her knees. She'd need to be able to move around, without it getting caught. "Any clue where we are?"
“No,” he said, looking around. “Then again, I rarely go underground, so…”
"Underground? Shit." She tugged a hand through her hair, scowling. "Door. We need an exit."
Aquarius glances around the bare cell. “We have to find the exit for our cell, first.”
"That's what I meant." Kesari said, shaking her head. She turned to one of the walls, placing her hands on it and feeling around for anything.
Aquarius glances around the solid walls. Nothing looked different…
"God, I'd kill for a cigarette right now." Kesari muttered, crouching to continue examining the wall.
He snorted. “Please, don’t kill me. I’m innocent.”
"I plan on getting you out of here." She said, eyes flickering up at him, before returning to the wall just as quick. "The smoke would find any gaps in the walls, letting us know how and where we were brought in." She furrowed her brows for a moment, before standing. "Do any of these walls feel like they've got empty space on the other side?"
Aquarius tilted his head. “Over there, maybe,” he said, pointing, “but I can’t tell. My scenses are all messed up.”
Kesari grumbled to herself as she stepped to the wall he'd indicated, patting it and frowning as she tried to discern whether it sounded like it was solid or not. "You're a siren, right?"
“Yeah, why?”
"Can you, by any chance, manipulate or control water?"
He shook his head. “I’m male. That ability is for the females. I really just have the good looks.”
"Fuck, there goes that." She grumbled, wracking her brain for a plan. "Wait. I wonder…" She placed her palms flat on the wall, her eyes returning to the red glow as she activated the blood magic, searching for signs of life on the other side.
He blinked. “What are you…”
"I'm searching." She said through gritted teeth, keeping her eyes on the wall. There was someone on the other side, a guard, probably.
Shrugging, he leaned against the wall to watch her.
