"Is there a way for Derlik to make more rooms here?" Cas asked softly. "Nix slept in Halm's room before, and we definitely don't want that…"
"Is there a way for Derlik to make more rooms here?" Cas asked softly. "Nix slept in Halm's room before, and we definitely don't want that…"
"I should be able to, yes," Derlik said, looking around. "Where do you think it would be best to put it?" He hummed some, rubbing Nix's back to see if he had any input.
Nix didn't respond, his eyes glassy and distant. "Preferably far away from Halm's room." Cas replied, sighing softly.
Derlik nodded, turning so the room was behind them. He held Nix close, stepping over to the wall. He raised one hand, a door appearing. He stepped in, closing the door behind them.
"Hey, Nix, look," he said softly. "We're not there anymore, see? He can't find you in here."
Nix looked up from where his face was hidden and glanced around, keeping close to Derlik. "Mmm…? Where… where are we…?" He asked softly.
"We're in our room now," Derlik said softly, "And Halm isn't able to get past that door. We're safe in here, I promise."
"Okay…" Nix huddled a bit closer to Derlik, still seeming uneasy. Cas looked around, scrutinizing the new room.
The room was mostly plain, waiting for Nix to decorate it. Derlik moved to sit down on the bed, Nix held to his chest.
"I've got you, Nix…"
Nix buried his face back in Derlik's shoulder, holding tightly to him. He obviously didn't want to do much. "We should probably go…" Cas said softly to Zachary.
Zachary nodded, wrapping his arm around Cas's back. Derlik moved to lay down, still keeping Nix closer and murmuring soft assurances to him.
Nix yawned a bit and huddled closer, purring quietly. Cas kept close to Zachary as well, staying quiet as they left the room.
"Let's try to get back to sleep," Derlik suggested, hugging Nix to his chest.
Zachary led Cas to their bedroom, not looking at the faint black trails of Halm's blood coming from the bedroom that were fading fast.
"Okay…" Nix relaxed after a while, and finally fell asleep. Cas kept his eyes off of the blood, obviously uneasy at the sight of it.
Zachary was as well. He led Cas to their bedroom, closing the door behind them.
"I love you, dear…"
"I love you too…" Cas whispered weakly. "We're… w-we're gonna be okay…"
"We are," Zachary assured. "I promise, we're going to be okay…" He hugged Cas close, kissing his head.
Cas nodded a bit and tucked his head under Zachary's chin. "We should probably try to sleep… hopefully he won't bother us. How bad did he look?" He asked softly.
"He… he looked really bad. He'll be out for a while." Zachary led Cas to the bed, laying down with him. He kept Cas under his chin, rubbing his back.
Cas nodded again, huddling closer to Zachary. "Yeah… what did… w-what did he do to himself?" He asked quietly. "There was a lot of blood…"
"There… there were a lot of gashes," Zachary said softly, not looking at Cas as he remembered.
"The main gods, they… they're pretty much just skin and their liquid insides, and… he'd done what he thought was enough to drain all of him…"
"A-Ah…" Cas shuddered a bit and held tighter to Zachary, not liking the mental image. "What did you have to do to fix him?"
"Derlik… My sister and I had to… h-hold him together while Derlik put everything back…" Zachary closed his eyes a moment, shuddering.
Cas shuddered again as well, nodding. "Can his body… make more of the fluid…?"He asked tentatively.
"If… only if enough is still inside him," Zachary said softly. He tucked his head against Cas's shoulder, arms tight around him.
"And… is there…?" Cas asked weakly. As much as he disliked Halm, he didn't want him to die, if only because he didn't want to get stuck in a soul orb.
