"There is," Zachary said, nuzzling closer. "We're safe, I promise. You're safe."
"There is," Zachary said, nuzzling closer. "We're safe, I promise. You're safe."
Cas nodded a bit and closed his eyes, trembling lightly. "That's… t-that's good, I guess…"
"I've got you…" Zachary kissed Cas's head, holding him tighter.
"You're safe here…"
Cas nodded again, burying his face in Zachary's chest. "Y-Yeah, we're gonna be okay… we're gonna be fine…"
"I promise…" Zachary kissed Cas's head, refusing to let go.
"Mm…" Cas held tighter to Zachary, his breathing a bit uneven. "W-We should try to sleep…"
"Mhm…" Zachary tucked himself and Cas into the bed's blankets, kissing his head.
Cas closed his eyes and tried to relax, taking a while to be able to doze off into a light sleep.
Zachary did his best to relax as well, curled up with Cas. He didn't know why, but it felt like Halm had changed… he didn't say a word, though. He didn't need Cas to be more worried than he already was. So, Zachary fell asleep.
Cas eventually managed to fall asleep, but he was awake before Zachary in the morning. He stayed quietly curled up on the bed, his breathing a bit shallow.
Zachary shifted some in the bed, pulling Cas closer to himself. He tucked his head against Cas's neck, frowning some when he heard how Cas's breathing was. He slowly started to stir, letting out a small breath.
"Mm…" Cas closed his eyes and tucked his head under Zachary's chin, huddling close to him. "Are you awake…?" He asked in a soft whisper.
It took a moment, but Zachary responded.
"I am," he said softly, holding Cas close. "How are you doing?"
"I-I'm okay… I just… I don't like it here…" He whispered. "Something feels off. Like we're being watched."
Zachary didn't try to say that they weren't being watched, hugging Cas close.
"I've got you," he said softly. "I don't like being here either, but…" They had no choice.
"I know… we don't have any other option. We can't leave." Cas sighed softly. "We'll have to find some way to make living here more tolerable…"
"Right…" Zachary moved to kiss Cas's forehead, his hands slipping into his lover's.
"We're going to make it through this," he promised. "Together."
Cas nodded weakly. "Y-Yeah… you're right. We'll be alright. We can get through this. Should we check on Derlik and Nix?"
"That sounds like a good idea. We should really… we should work on including Nix more. It's bad for him to have so alone time with the god of chaos…" Zachary let out a small breath.
Cas nodded again. "Right… he won't be willing to separate from him, though. It's both of them or neither of them." He sighed softly.
"I know…" Zachary shook his head some.
"I wish we could do more about this than we are…"
"Yeah. It's a really complicated situation, and we don't have much control over it."
Zachary let out a long breath, pulling Cas closer as he sat up.
"All of this is fucked up."
"Yeah… no disagreement there. And Nix has no clue what's going on. He doesn't know how dangerous Derlik is for him."
Zachary kissed Cas's head, moving to stand.
"He really doesn't… and I don't know how we can convince him."
