Nix hummed his assent and continued to purr, smiling brightly while he waited for Derlik to finish up. "Does it look good?"
Nix hummed his assent and continued to purr, smiling brightly while he waited for Derlik to finish up. "Does it look good?"
"It looks wonderful," Derlik said.
"Now, I need you to open both eyes and look up, okay?" He pulled the mascara over, opening it with a hum.
Nix obeyed, opening his eyes and looking up as instructed. "Why do you need me to do this?" He asked.
"I'm going to put some mascara on your eyelashes," Derlik explained. "It's too make them look bigger." He lifted the wand up, gently applying the mascara to Nix's left eye.
"Okay!" Nix cowered a bit at the strange sensation of the brush on his lashes, clearly not quite sure what to do.
"You okay? Do you need me to go slower?" Derlik pulled the makeup wand away a moment. "It's a strange feeling, isn't it." He offered an encouraging smile.
"Y-Yeah, it's weird… slower would be good." Nix sighed and took a couple of seconds to calm down before he nodded. "Alright…"
Derlik moved back when Nix nodded. He slowly continued the apply the mascara, humming softly and being gentle.
"You're doing so good with this," he said softly.
"T-Thanks…" Nix replied nervously, flattening his ears back against his head. He shuffled around a bit, biting his lip while he waited.
With one final stroke, Derlik finished. He moved so Nix could see the mirror, lightly placing a hand on Nix's head.
"You did so good," he cooed. "Do you like how it looks?"
Nix looked at himself and grinned, nodding. "Yeah! It looks great!" He hugged Derlik tightly. "Thank you! We should go show miss Serna." He grabbed Derlik's hand and started trotting out of the room.
"Ah, now hold on a moment," Derlik said, keeping a hold of Nix's hand and not budging yet.
"Serna is sleeping still. Why don't you show it to her after she wakes up?"
Nix pouted a bit, but let Derlik stop him anyway. "But what if it doesn't look as pretty by the time she wakes up?"
"Well, as long as you don't touch it, it will be fine. Here." Derlik reached over, grabbing the setting spray. "Close you're eyes and lean forward into this. It'll help keep everything in place." He squirted some of the spray out.
Nix obeyed, closing his eyes and only flinching a little when his face was sprayed. "Mm… okay! What do we do until she wakes up, then?"
Derlik tilted his head a bit, thinking.
"Well, I'm not entirely sure." He smiled a bit. "I usually just go with the flow, but I haven't done something like this before." This was true. Usually, he was much less… tame
"Maybe we can make breakfast?" Nix suggested. "Miss Serna would be really happy!" He grinned brightly.
"Sounds good to me." Derlik smiled, nodding.
"Let's go get started then!" Derlik headed out, leading Nix to the kitchen.
"Okay! I don't really know how to cook, though, so you'll have to help." Nix crawled onto the counter once they reached the kitchen and started pulling out random ingredients.
Derlik nodded a bit.
"Okay, let's see what we have to work with…" He hummed faintly, pulling the ingredients over to himself.
"How about pancakes? They're quick and easy to make, and I'm sure the others will love them."
"Sounds good to me. What do I need to grab for that?" Nix asked curiously, looking down at all the ingredients he'd already dragged out.
"Well," Derlik said, "With what you pulled out, all we would need is the flour and griddle. Do you have any idea where those are?" Derlik snooped around a bit, looking over at Nix.
Nix shook his head a bit. "No, but I can probably find them. What does a griddle look like?" He asked, hopping down onto the floor to begin searching.
"Well, it'll long and flat, with a knob on it to set the temperature." Derlik smiled, finding the flour and setting it down with the other ingredients.
"Mmkay!" It took Nix several minutes, but he finally found the griddle. He dragged it out of the cupboard, panting by the time he succeeded.
