Nix crawled up onto the bed with a soft sigh, looking up at Halm. He handed the bowl over to Cas. "Here. You can help Zachary eat." "What is it?" Cas asked.
Nix crawled up onto the bed with a soft sigh, looking up at Halm. He handed the bowl over to Cas. "Here. You can help Zachary eat." "What is it?" Cas asked.
"It's mashed bananas with honey," Halm explained. He sat next to Nix with their breakfast, setting Cas's down for him.
"And some bread soaked in milk." Zachary shifted a bit. It didn't sound bad to him, really.
Cas nodded and held a spoonful of the food up to Zachary. "Here… we can figure out how well you can eat, alright?"
Zachary nodded a little. He wanted to see to. He carefully leaned forward, taking the food in his mouth. He did his best to keep his mouth closed. He chewed a bit, just a small amount escaping as he swallowed.
Cas took a napkin from Nix and gently cleaned off Zachary's face before holding up another bite to him. "You're doing great, love."
Zachary sighed softly, but nodded. He was doing better than Halm thought he would. He leaned forward for the next bite, accepting it. He chewed as little as he could get away with, even less dribbling out.
Cas smiled softly as Zachary improved, continuing to feed him until he'd emptied the bowl. He huddled up against Zachary's chest afterwards.
Zachary let out a content sigh. Even with just this, he'd gotten better. It was a good sign. He wrapped his arms around Cas. He nudged Cas's plate lightly, letting out a soft sound. Cas needed to eat too.
"Mmm…" Cas reluctantly picked up his own plate and started eating to appease Zachary, still sticking as close to the other as he could.
Zachary smiled softly, nuzzling Cas's head as little and letting out a happy purr.
Cas soon finished eating and huddled close to Zachary again. "Mmmmmm… I love you, Zachary…" He murmured.
Zachary gave a hum of agreement. He opened his mouth, trying to speak too, but vague sound just came out.
Cas smiled weakly, burying his face in Zachary's chest. "You're strong… you'll recover quickly. I can tell."
Zachary smiled just a touch, arms tightening around Cas a little as he nodded. He would, for Cas. He placed his lips against the top of Cas's head.
"Mm…" Cas smiled a bit more brightly and buried his face in the crook of Zachary's neck. Nix watched the two of them quietly.
Halm had an arm gently around Nix, occasionally glancing at the pair. Cas was doing better, at least. Zachary let out a happier sound, settling back with Cas on his lap.
"Mmmm…"
Nix huddled closer to Halm, deciding it would be best to not look at the other two. He still wasn't a huge fan of them being together, but he knew he just had to accept it at this point.
Halm wrapped his other arm around Nix. He'd accepted Cas and Zachary by now. He saw how happy Cas was, how much he cared about Zachary. He rubbed Nix's head lightly, choosing to look down at him.
Nix buried his face in Halm's chest with a soft sigh. He was still worried that Zachary would hurt Cas somehow. All of Cas's previous boyfriends were horrible to him and Nix was concerned, naturally.
Halm let out a soft breath. He held Nix close, petting him a little. He knew Cas's had been hurt before, but he knew Zachary. They couldn't afford to be against it anymore, anyway. Zachary shifted a bit. He wanted to get up, to move.
Cas looked up at Zachary when he shifted around. "Do you need to go somewhere? Can we help?" He asked softly.
Zachary used one hand to wave in a vague direction. He just wanted to get out of bed. Halm stood, Nix in one arm, bringing the wheelchair over.
Cas nodded and helped Zachary off of the bed, where Nix helped Cas get him into the wheelchair. "Where do you wanna go?"
Zachary felt horrible because of how much he had to lean on Cas to stand up, like a newborn. He settled quietly, thinking. He looked at Halm for a moment.
"Out to the gardens," Halm communicated for Zachary.
"Alright, let's go." Cas carefully pushed the wheelchair out the door, Nix trailing quietly behind him.
