Matthew shook his head.
"Why would we? They're still a part of our families, and our friends. Why would we bully them for something they can't control?"
Matthew shook his head.
"Why would we? They're still a part of our families, and our friends. Why would we bully them for something they can't control?"
"Well… I guess humans are just really mean, then…" Rowan sighed softly. "Like, if people had wings where I come from and someone was afraid of heights, they'd never hear the end of it. Everyone would make fun of them. Well… except for nice people, but those are unfortunately kinda few and far between."
Matthew raised his eyebrows.
"You want to go back to that world..?" That confused him.
Rowan flushed a bit and looked away. "W-Well, it's all I've ever known… my mom is there, and Maisie, and my job… I mean, if I could bring them here, I'd happily stay, but… that's not really an option, is it?"
Perhaps the first two they could manage to bring here, but still, that wasn't really the point, was it?
"I suppose not…" Matthew sighed a bit, still holding Rowan and Fluff close.
"I guess I could technically get a job here… might get fired from my job for not showing up for several days, after all, but that's besides the point." Rowan sighed softly.
"It's you're choice. But I'm sure you want to go back and see your momma, and you're dog." Matthew sighed as well.
"How are you doing?" He asked, changing the subject.
Rowan nodded a bit and hummed softly at the question. "Um… I'm alright. Better. Still kinda frazzled, but I'm fine." He smiled weakly.
Matthew smiled gently.
"That's good then. I need to pack, but it'll only be a few minutes. Do you want to stay in the chair or come with me?"
"Um… I can go with you, I guess. I don't have anything to pack, so… I'm not sure what we're going to do about that." Rowan sighed softly and got up to follow Matthew. "I might have to borrow some of your clothes even though they'll be massive on me."
Matthew stood as well, nodding a bit.
"Well, if we altered one of my robes…" Maybe thought to himself, heading into the only other room in the house- his bedroom. A larger nest was there, stuffed with fluffy down and soft leaves. He moved to a chest, rummaging through and pulling one of the white robes out to hold up to Rowan.
Rowan flushed a bit when Matthew did so, looking down at himself and how big the robe was compared to him. "I think I would trip over it." He laughed a bit, gently reaching out to touch the fabric.
Matthew nodded, chuckling softly. The fabric was soft, almost silky smooth. He thought to himself a moment.
"Well, if we take in the collar to be more of a large hood…" He hummed thoughtfully.
"We can make this work," he concluded.
"True… I guess that would work." Rowan hummed softly to himself as he examined the robe. "How exactly do we do that? I don't know how to sew."
"I do," Matthew said. He set the robe aside for altercations later, pulling out a bag to start packing things for himself. He hummed a bit, voice deep and rich.
"Alright… Rowan hovered around Matthew, not quite sure what to do with himself at the moment. "Hopefully I can get back soon… maybe I can even talk my mom into living here." He laughed softly.
Matthew looked up as he packed, smiling gently.
"Maybe." He laughed lightly as well. He finished with his things, picking up the robe they'd pulled out for Rowan.
"You ready to fix this up for you?"
Rowan nodded a bit and stepped closer to Matthew. "Mhmm. What do you need me to do?" He asked softly. "And how quickly can you sew? We'll probably want to head out before it gets dark…"
"All I need you to do is stand still," Matthew said. He slipped the robe over Rowan's head, chuckling a bit at how large it was on him.
"And I can have it done by then." He smiled a bit.
"Mmkay." Rowan closed his eyes and stuck his tongue out a bit after Matthew pulled the robe over his head. "Should I hold my arms out or anything?"
"That might help," Matthew agreed. He started to gather the fabric up in the back, lifting it up onto Rowan's head like a good. He made some marks of the fabric. He pulled out some thread and a needle, working quickly and quietly with concentration.
Rowan held out his arms and kept quiet and still, fixing his gaze on the wall. He allowed himself to get lost in his thoughts to try and figure out what he was going to do with the situation.
Matthew finished the hood, smiling as he examined his work. He moved to the sleeves now. He cuffed then a bit, but then he also layered then a bit for some finesse. He did the same to the bottom hem.
Rowan closed his eyes and yawned while he waited for Matthew to finish up. "Where are we going to get the horses?" He asked curiously.
"Well, I'll have to call for them. They roam in the woods," Matthew explained. He pulled back, examining his work.
"Finished!" He finally declared. He hummed a bit as he looked over Rowan, noting the yawn.
"Are you sure you don't want to wait the night and head out in the morning?"
