“I was taller than you even at fourteen,” Nick teased. “But at least they’re not as big as my current clothes. Do you want to try Jane’s? They’d still be big on you.”
“I was taller than you even at fourteen,” Nick teased. “But at least they’re not as big as my current clothes. Do you want to try Jane’s? They’d still be big on you.”
Cas blushed a bit. "I… I guess it's worth a try… can you ask her, though?"
Nick nodded. “I’ll be right back,” he informed Cas, giving him a theatrical wink before heading out to find his sister and convince her to loan Nick her old clothes.
Cas sighed and sat down, hiding his face in his hands. It's going to be especially humiliating if they don't fit…
Nick came back only a few minutes later with a small armful of clothes. “These are a few years old so they should be your size, height-wise at least,” Nick said, handing them to Cas.
He tried them on and was a little annoyed to see that they actually fit. He came out with his arms crossed, blushing in embarrassment.
Nick smirked, doing his best to hold back a laugh. “I’m surprised they actually fit,” Nick said, a tinge of laughter in his words. “Jane is going to be happy that her old clothes are being put to use.”
Cas huffed, refusing to meet Nick's eyes. "I feel ridiculous…"
“You don’t have to wear them if you don’t want to,” Nick said, his amusement fading a bit. “We can always do something else instead.”
"It's alright… I doubt anyone will notice, anyways." Cas shrugged, adjusting the pants.
“Okay, then let’s head out,” Nick said, glancing at the window. “Should we just take the door this time?”
"Yeah. Me and trees don't mix well." Cas carefully left the room with Nick.
Nick chuckled. “Yeah, this is probably easier,” he agreed, sneaking towards the back door.
Cas kept an eye out while they walked to make sure they wouldn't be caught, luckily being able to get out with Nick without being seen.
Nick sighed with relief as they escaped unnoticed, shutting the back door behind them. “Now, to the stables!” he announced in a whisper-shout.
He nodded, keeping up with Nick as best he could. "Where are they?"
“Ummm, this way, I’m pretty sure,” he said, leading Cas to the east of the castle.
"Alrighty." Cas kept walking with him until they reached the stable. "I'm pretty sure I see a horse in there…"
Nick beamed. “Yes! I hope there’s two, so we can race each other!”
"Well, I'm sure there's more than one horse, love." Cas went in with Nick to see the horses. "They're pretty big horses, huh?"
“I love them!” Nick exclaimed, going all starry-eyed when he saw them. He went up and petted the closest one, a butter-yellow mare. “I wish we could just adopt them all.”
"I mean, we probably could if we really wanted to." Cas shrugged, looking around at the horses before choosing a chestnut and white stallion. The horse was large, but he was pretty sure he could handle it. "Could you help me get on?"
“Of course!” Nick replied, giving the mare one last pat before walking over to Cas’s horse and crouching, knitting his hands together for a boost.
Cas hopped up with a quiet grunt, grabbing the reins. Really, he was kind of trying to earn his man card back by riding the stallion despite still wearing girls' clothes. "Thanks, love."
“No problem,” Nick replied, smiling at Cas before looking at all of the horses in an attempt to decide which one he should ride. After several moments he settled on a stallion that was the color of dark chocolate. He hopped on after a tiny bit of struggling with a triumphant grin.
