Okay, I’ve made like three of these in the past couple of days but I’ve been really bored. Anywaaaays!
Two kingdoms, Ristallica and Horaan, have been locked in a struggle for power for years. They agreed to a truce, but it is an uneasy one.
As the crown prince of one of these kingdoms, you have been told all of your life that the other kingdom (and the royal family) are terrible, barbaric people. You have nothing else to go on, so you assume that’s what they are like.
Now it is the week of a deadly tournament to show off each royal magic user’s skill from all of the surrounding kingdoms. The final day of the tournament, known as Element, is the day that the truce ends.
But the problem is, you have met the crown prince of the other kingdom and he isn’t at all like you’ve been led to believe, so what else could your kingdom be wrong about? You have to figure out what to do before time is up. The prince from the other kingdom is willing to help, but you realize that your feelings’ are more than just those of allies. Will the two of you be able to stop a war from breaking out between the two kingdoms, or will you die trying?
You can either be the prince from Ristallica, which is a land of ice and snow in the more northern parts and a land of mountains and rivers in the south, or you can be the prince from Horaan, which is a fertile land that is warm in the north with scorching deserts in the south. The magic in Ristallica is ice magic. The magic in Horaan is fire magic.

i’m gonna use Nick hahah
Name: Nicolas “Nick” Wolfe
Age: 18
Gender: male
Sexuality: gayyyyy
Appearance: Nick has earnest, brown eyes that are the color of chocolate, and thick eyelashes. He has dark skin and even darker hair, which is fairly short and curly. He is a bit over average height (5’ 10”) and slightly muscular. He has long fingers and an easy smile, but also a tell-tale scrunching of his nose when he’s annoyed.
Personality: Nick is nice and trustworthy, though he can be cold and calculating when he wants to be. He has a quick wit and a sharp tongue, and can be bitingly sarcastic when he is tired or angry. He is normally calm, but he does have a bit of a temper at times. Nick likes solving puzzles and coming up with strategies. He’s good in an argument or when it comes to haggling or bartering. He also is good at knowing when people are scamming him. Nick is also generally quite honest and has a terrible poker face.
Power: He can create and control fire and is immune to heat. He can be burned, though it is difficult.
Backstory: Nick’s mother disappeared several years ago, so his only family is his father, his sister, and his paternal grandmother. (will probably add more during the story)
Weapon of choice: short sword
Likes: the heat, puzzles, books, avoiding his royal duties, animals, and learning new things
Dislikes: when people pick on others who are clearly weaker, being lied to, being ignored, and not knowing what to say (unfortunately he’s not the most eloquent most of the time)
Other:
i definitely copied and pasted his appearance and personality lol
also we’re gonna have to wait like an hour or so to start this bc i’m a bit busy but i’ll post a starter when i can
Alrighty cool. I'm gonna say that, in regards to Cas's powers, he's cold resistant and prone to overheating because he can't regulate his body temperature well. He's got cold powers oof
Nick had always hated the Element. It was a dumb name was an even dumber tournament. He had heard stories of fights so brutal that people ended up dead, horribly mutilated and nearly past recognization. He personally hated using his powers against others for sport, and he believed he wasn’t the only one. As he walked through the busy streets of Ventralis, the town that housed the festival of the Element, he glanced at the others there. He was sure not all of them were magic users, as magic only ran in royal blood, but some of them looked to be royalty.
Nick himself wasn’t dressed like royalty, another thing he wasn’t fond of. Stiff suits and heavy crowns seemed like pieces of a costume on him, so he was currently wearing some nondescript clothes to blend in. He knew he couldn’t avoid his responsibilities forever, as there was a feast tonight for all of the royal families, including the royals from Ristallica, his kingdom’s enemies. He wanted some time to relax, away from the blood feuds and minor battles on the first day of the weeklong celebration. He wouldn’t have to fight until the last day, when the other crown princes and princesses, emperors in training, and elites would battle. He was not excited.
Nick wandered through the crowded square, glad that no had recognized him. Thankfully, Horaan was a kingdom that kept to itself, so he probably wouldn’t be recognized unless his father was looking for him, which probably wouldn’t be the case. For now, he was content to act like a normal citizen and pretend everything was fine, which was his way of handling emotions.
Cas's family had already traveled here to participate in the tournament, which Cas was none too happy about. Hell, he was only seventeen and five feet tall. He couldn't fight anyone to the death. He sighed as he walked through the square, running his fingers through his ginger hair.
His clothes were nondescript as well, although his father forced him to wear a bracelet with the family emblem on it. He'd shoved the bracelet into his pocket as soon as he'd snuck off to the town square, not wanting anyone to recognize him. He was jostled by the crowds as he went through and was getting rather disgruntled.
Nick was shoving his way through the crowd when he accidentally shoved someone a little bit too hard. He blushed, instantly feeling bad. “I’m terribly sorry!” he apologized to the boy. He could only see the back of the person he had shoved, so he hoped that the boy had heard him. Nick was known in his kingdom for accidentally getting himself into trouble.
Cas stumbled and took a moment to catch his balance before turning around. "It's fine…" He said quietly, his hood up to hide his face. He hadn't been to this kingdom before, so it wasn't that likely that he'd be recognized anyways, but it couldn't hurt to take the extra precautions.
“Okay, I really am sorry, you know…” Nick rambled. He ran his hand through his hair, which he did when he was nervous. “I’m a bit of a klutz.” He wondered why the boy’s hood was obscuring so much of his face. Did he mean for it to do that, and if so, why? Did this kid have something to hide? Nick dismissed the idea. He was bored and definitely looking for reasons to annoy people.
Cas thought he recognized Nick, but he couldn't remember from where. "I feel like I've seen you before… what's your name and kingdom?" He fidgeted with his sleeves, still seeming a bit tense as he watched the dense crowd.
Nick stiffened. “I’m…Jerome Carpet from the Hishi kingdom,” he responded, picking a last name from one of the first things he saw. He looked enough like he could be from there, but maybe the outskirts near the border. “And you are?”
He couldn't think quick enough to come up with a new kingdom, but he could at least come up with a name. "Um… Nathan, from Ristallica."
“Nathan, that’s a nice name,” Nick remarked pleasantly, though he couldn’t help frowning at the mention of his least favorite kingdom. “Well, I’ll be off then, I suppose. Gotta talk to my friend…Lamp Chicken…” Why did he have to try and come up with another name? That sounded even more ridiculous than his fake name! He just hoped that “Nathan” wouldn’t notice.
