"Yeah, sure." Remi accepted the controller from Anthony and put herself on random considering she'd never played the game before. "Alright, so how do we do this one?" She asked. "My brother never had it when we were growing up."
"Yeah, sure." Remi accepted the controller from Anthony and put herself on random considering she'd never played the game before. "Alright, so how do we do this one?" She asked. "My brother never had it when we were growing up."
“Left joystick is movement, X and Y are jump, A is normal attack, B is special attack, L and R are grap, and ZL and ZR are shield, did you get all that?” He asked as if he thought it was an easy concept for someone who’s never played to understand such a complex set of buttons. He glanced over, thinking that she might have some problems if he was to start immediately. He scooted over closer to her and put his hands over hers, moving her fingers to each of the buttons as he repeated the same set of controls.
“You think you got that now?” He didn’t quite let go of her hands yet though…
Remi examined the buttons with a confused expression. "Which ones are ZL and ZR though? They aren't on the front like the other ones… and what's the point of this other joystick on the right?" She asked. She noticed that Anthony was lingering on her hands and smirked a bit, but said nothing.
“L, R, ZL, and ZR are the ones your index fingers would be on when you hold it. See, look,” he angled her hands up a bit so that she could see the buttons. “And the right joystick… just think of it as a hard hitting attack. I don’t recommend using it unless you’re sure you’re gonna hit me,” he spoke, not even realizing that his hands were practically holding hers tightly at that moment.
"Alright, alright… who is this I'm playing, by the way? I put myself on random." Remi looked up at the screen at her character, frozen on the screen from being paused. "Is there a specific combination of all these strange buttons that I'm supposed to use with this one in particular?"
“Uhm…” He looked at the screen for a moment to see which character she was playing, realizing that it was one of his least favorite characters to play against because of his counter abilities with his ridiculously fast upwards attack. He sighed and started explaining to Remi about how the combinations of the buttons worked…
Five minutes of explanation later…
“You think you’re good?” He asked again, making sure she understood.
"Yeah, probably. You can stop holding my hand now if you'd like. Both figuratively and literally." Remi snickered a bit as she looked down at her hands on the controller with Anthony's hands still wrapped around hers. "Although I guess it would be easier to beat you if you're both controlling my character and not playing your own."
When she mentioned about his hands, his eyes widened before pulling back immediately and started the game. He let himself go with the flow too much…
“You’re going down…” he whispered under his breath as he started to beat her in the character in the game as if it was a punching bag. God, why did he have to be used to teaching people how to play the game…
Remi hummed softly to herself as she played, not seeming to care much that she was losing horribly. She was mostly just tapping the 'A' button whenever Anthony's character neared hers, which wasn't really an incredibly difficult strategy to deal with, but it was still irritating.
Anthony was sighing all throughout the fight, mostly because he was mad at himself for letting himself get carried away so easily. He messed up real bad and it was going to haunt him for a long time he felt. In the end, he won the game but he felt like he lost the fight.
He leaned against the sofa before turning to her.
“Stop acting, like, so bubbly. It was by mistake and meant absolutely nothing,” and that was a lie.
"Oh, come now. I'm always bubbly, and it's not like I can blame you. I do have very nice hands." Remi held her hands up a bit and snickered again. "Although it does surprise me a bit that you supposedly didn't notice considering that my hands are freezing cold all the time."
Shit. Was the only thing on his mind.
“S-Shut up… I just didn’t feel the cold…” that was, quite clearly, an excuse. He wasn’t going to let her play her little game. No way. He had more pride than to give it to someone like this heroine who just happens to be his roommate…
“Okay maybe I felt it a bit—“
Remi snickered a bit to held. "Oh, don't worry. I've met way weirder people than you, man. I won't hold it against you if you've got a bit of a hand kink." She flipped upside down, turning her eyes back to the screen. "I've dated people who are into the strangest shit, but hey. I'll try anything once." She shrugged a bit. "Well… most things. I do have limits."
“It’s not a kink…” Anthony was trying his best not to blush and flush. Oh boy… that was hard to do when she spoke it like that. “I just— I don’t even take people’s hands most of the time,” he claimed as he started the new round of the game.
“You wanna play some Mario Kart after this?” He asked, leaning against the couch as he played.
"Yeah, sure. I'm a lot better at Mario Kart than I am at this one." Remi yawned a bit and kept playing, remaining upside down for now. "Just saying, I wouldn't hold it against you if you had any kinks. Everyone has got something weird they like, you know."
“Do murders count?” He asked calmly, finishing the game and quickly changing it to the more calm game. He was a bit nervous about that one though. He wasn’t the best at racing games and so he didn’t want to lose horribly.
“Go easy on me, aight?”
"You're into killing people?" Remi asked curiously as she started playing the game. "Like, killing people gets you horny? Or you just enjoy it as like, a hobby?" She flipped right side up so she could play the game better.
“Ehhh… more of the latter but I wouldn’t exactly disagree with the former either,” he answered. It was true. Well, somewhat. Killing people gave him some sort of excitement nothing else did. At least, nothing he knew of.
“Well, what are you into? If I could ask,”
"Mm… I'm not into anything too crazy." Remi shrugged a bit. "I just like normal stuff that's technically kinky, but still pretty vanilla. Bondage and stuff like that. But like I said, I've dated some weirdos and been asked to do some pretty weird shit."
“Righttttttt…” He replied, choosing his favorite character being the Shy Guy and picking his usual bike for the game. He crossed his legs, interested on how this will go down.
“You choose the track, I’m not sure which one I wanna play so… go ahead,” he nodded and turned to her before turning back to the screen with a small smile. Why was he even smiling…
"Alrighty." Remi picked Link and Royal Raceway for the track. It was really the only one that she was really good at. "You ever dated anyone?" She asked as the race started. "Your friend the Gentleman tells me that he's been alone all his life. Isn't that sad?"
“I have. Broke up with me as soon as she knew what I was up to behind her back. By that I mean all the murders,” he spoke, sighing softly before immediately bumping into her when the race started, smirking softly. “But yeah, after that I never dated anyone else. Why do you ask?”
"Just curious. Gentleman asked me, so I figured I might as well ask." Remi shrugged, ignoring Anthony's characters in the game in favor of just continuing on to hit him with a shell when she got an item.
“Damn you—“ the shell knocked him off the map as well as he was driving right beside the edge of the track. He was trying to get serious but really couldn’t. He was a bit… weirded out by how quickly he and Remi seemed to be getting along. “I’m getting you back for that,”
"I'm sure you will." Remi snickered a bit. She honestly wasn't too surprised. Her exuberant, blunt personality didn't work for everyone, but she actually tended to get past people's walls annoyingly quickly. Sometimes, all she had to do was catch them off guard by asking personal questions out of nowhere.
