After a long night of gathering his things, Anthony was finally moving in to a new place. An apartment which was closer to the city’s center than the one he was in before. He was excited, to say the very least. Once he got the keys, he let out a huff of air as he took his excessive belongings up with him to the room. Seeing that the room was already unlocked, he assumed that his roommate was already inside.
After he opened the door, he walked in excitedly and went to see who his roommate was.
“Good morning roomm—“ To say he was shocked to find Remi on the couch would have been a huge understatement. He felt his mind and heart sank to his feet as everything he held in and on his hands fell to the floor before he stepped back.
“You’ve… got to be fucking kidding me…” He managed to breathe out.
"Hey~" Remi blew a kiss to Anthony and waved a bit. She was definitely surprised as well, but she wasn't really showing it. She could definitely get used to living like this. "I see that you're short on money as well or you probably wouldn't be moving in with s roommate, would you? I had a lovely conversation with your friend the other day. We should get to know each other as well, darling~"
Anthony massaged his temples and was going to turn to the door. And he did. He walked towards the door in an attempt to leave.
“I am not talking to you about anything regarding my criminal lifestyle,” he spoke as he reached the door, reaching for the door handle as if to actually leave.
"Oh, c'mon~… it'll be fun!" Remi got to her feet and grinned up at Anthony as she froze the door handle. Now Anthony couldn't get out if he tried. At least not without great difficulty or waiting for the ice to melt. "Why are you so against me, huh? I'm actually pretty cool when you get to know me."
He should’ve seen that coming. He looked at the handle for a moment, sighing, before turning around to her again.
“I give you twenty four hours to convince me that I wouldn’t regret living in this apartment room with a heroine like yourself,” he spoke clearly, looking at the clock on the wall.
“Starting… now,”
"Oh, come on. I could've easily arrested the two of you yesterday. And look who isn't in prison." She gestured vaguely to Anthony and rolled her eyes. "C'mon. What specific concerns do you have?" She asked.
Anthony, too, rolled his own eyes. It took him a long moment before walking over a bit closer to her. He sighed again before placing a hand on the couch.
“What did you talk to Ca— Gentleman about yesterday?” That slip was nearly a bad move. He had to be careful not to do any of that around her. He didn’t trust her. Not at all. Not yet.
"Hmm… all sorts of things! Like, I mentioned that I have an older and talked about my dating life and he was like 'oh I've never dated anyone' and I'm like 'What?! But you're attractive!' and then he got all flustered and weird and announced that he was leaving so I was like 'whatever, see you later' and then I left." Remi explained, grinning after she finished rambling on.
Anthony was utterly confused as to what she was talking about. His partner in crime never liked heroes nor would he do something like talking to some sort of heroic figure. Would he? The chemical villain didn’t quite know but he wasn’t sure. If what the heroine that is Hielo said was true, then maybe he might’ve liked her a lot more than he thought. That is, if he would open up his heart to listen to her. He sighed and picked up his things, setting them to the side before hesitantly sitting down on the couch which wasn’t too far away from her.
“He got flustered at you calling him ‘attractive’ and not at all when you hinted about having sex with him? Seems… odd, really,” he murmured.
"I know! That's what I said too! You've got some weird friends." Remi snickered a bit. "Or friend at least. I dunno how social your are. Either way, your Gentleman friend is definitely an odd one." She flopped back down on the couch, humming idly. "And he asked if I was single and then seemed to immediately regret it, so I guess he doesn't really intend on dating me, which is really his own loss. I'm pretty fantastic."
Anthony wasn’t liking how she was presenting himself. Not because he disagreed with her, but he hated the fact that he slightly agreed with what she was saying.
“Weird question for him to ask…” he spoke softly before he stood up and walked over to his belongings. He opened his bag and got out the things he brought; his clothes, his gaming console, his necessities, and other random things. “Which room are you taking…” he asked plainly.
"Whichever one you don't. They're identical, so he really doesn't matter all that much." Remi shrugged a bit and lay back on the couch, staring at the ceiling. "Do what you want, I couldn't give a shit if I tried."
The villain looked over at her when she spoke the last part out, sighing softly before shaking his head. “Well try to give some when you’re living here with me,” he spoke out before going to one of the rooms and putting his belongings down before he started setting down his things. He then moved back to the living room and started setting up his gaming console with the television.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm not a slob, you know. And even if I was, it's not like I own enough to make a mess with anyway." She yawned a bit and sprawled out on the couch while she watched Anthony set up the gaming console. She remembered having one when she was younger that she played with her brother, but she hadn't used one in years.
When he finished setting up the console, he tried turning it on. After he was sure that it worked, he shut the console down and turned back to her.
“You don’t have to ask me if you want to play with it. It’s not like I’m a kid who’s guarding his games like some sort of treasure anyways so play with it as you want. Oh. Unless you manage to somehow break the console, then we’ll have a bit of a talk. If you need me, I’ll be in my room,” he spoke before putting the controllers down on the table in front of the couch and went to his room, closing the door quietly.
"Alrighty." Remi remained quietly on the couch for a fair bit of time, but eventually turned on the console and started searching for games that she recognized. She eventually found a newer version of Mariokart, which she used to play with her brother on occasion, and opened up the game to start playing by herself.
The villain, once alone, was reading through his last few chapters he needed for the upcoming test of his. It was hard trying to cram so much knowledge together in one week and so with all the nocturnal ‘work’ he’d been doing as well, it was a bit hard to manage and give time to reading these things. He had his headphones on, playing some sort of calm music as he read through. Eventually though, he fell asleep at his desk, using his arms as pillows.
Remi played the game by herself for a few hours, but eventually, she headed to her own room to go to bed. It definitely occurred to her that she could just walk into Anthony's room and kill him while he slept, but that wouldn't be any fun. She shook off the thought and changed into comfortable pajamas before huddling up in bed to sleep.
The villain would soon wake up thanks to the call someone made. He looked at his phone, not at all surprised that it was Dr. Gentleman himself. He sighed before answering the call.
“What?”
”Are you coming out tonight?”
“Too lazy… no thanks.”
”I heard you got yourself a room?”
“Uh… yeah about that…”
”What?”
“You know Hielo, right? The girl we met last night?”
“Yeah, what about her?”
“Well… I kinda… I kinda got her as my roommate…?”
”……”
“Cassi?”
”Are you serious?”
“I am.”
”Okay, I’m a tad bit jealous now—“
“Why would you—?!”
The call ended abruptly on Cassius’ end which left Anthony in quite a state of shock. He sighed before leaving his room to get something to drink.
Remi stirred a bit when she heard Anthony talking on the phone and sat up, rubbing at her eyes a bit. "Will got stop your yammering?! I don't get enough sleep as it is!" She yelled, clearly annoyed. She huffed a bit and curled up tighter on her bed to try and go back to sleep.
Anthony, a bit startled by the yell, nodded silently to himself. He realized too late that she wouldn’t see his nod either way so why did he even? After drinking, he went back into the living to play something, turning the volume down so that she wouldn’t hear him when he played. He decided on the very game that is Super Smash [COPYRIGHT] and started cursing silently at the online players who were giving him a hard time. He wasn’t sure how long he was going to play for…
Remi slept for another hour or two before she wandered out of her room with a yawn, wearing nothing but her underwear and a very oversized sweatshirt. She wandered into the kitchen to make herself some coffee so that she could feel a little less dead inside and a little more present. Being awoken earlier than she'd planned made her feel groggier.
Anthony was still on his game, taking the entire couch as he was laying down. He sighed softly under his breath when Remi came out, looking back at her for a quick moment before looking back at the television. He noticed how little she was wearing but didn’t mind. It wasn’t like his baggy hoodie and soccer shorts were any different. “Where do you wanna go have dinner?” He asked while still playing.
"Bit early to be thinking about dinner, isn't it?" She poured some coffee into a mug and meandered over to the couch to sit beside Anthony. "I usually just take meals as they come, you know? Go with the flow. I'm out and about a lot, so it usually just ends up being what's the cheapest thing in that particular area."
“Right…” He answered plainly, moving slightly closer to her when she sat down. When he finished the match he was on earlier, he handed her the other controller.
“Wanna play?”
