When authors use words that they don't understand. Like, if you don't know anything about music, don't write about a character that likes music. Or learn so you don't grossly misuse terms. PLEASE

this thing right there
Any story with this problem becomes so damn hard to understand

Also authors that go out of their way to use specific terminology to sound smart, like yes, that’s technically correct but it sounds awkward in that context and there’s no reason you need to use that term. It’s not as bad as authors who don’t know what they’re talking about, but still annoying.

I feel like overspecific terminology can be good if the character has a particular interest/obsession with that thing (or a general lack of social skills) but it can be obvious when an author just wants to show off their knowledge.

Yeah, I understand if it’s a character trait but I meant if it’s used in the narration or OOC.

Also, the: “let me re-explain everything that you all already know in great detail for the sake of the audience I don’t know we have” that inevitably happens when the author can’t find a better way to explain things to the reader.

I think good authors learn what they can and don't talk about it. But write in a way that an expert would be proud that it was done so well.

And just like…ask someone that actually knows about it to help with that section or read it to see if it makes sense

We aggressively wish that Twilight never happened

Fricking Kristen Stewart can't talk with the kind of roles she plays

i mean she did a good job w other roles, also bella was a very blank character so she did a good job w that

@Pickles group

Everything I've seen her in, she's playing a Bella-esque character, which she does a good job with, but it's so awful to watch
