Honestly the closest I've ever come to that is one character throwing up after getting part of his arm slashed open (and since he's part fae and the weapon was iron, it makes everything a lot worse and his throws up, then passes out)
That awkward moment when you like writing gore….
Mostly because most of my stories have wars in them and a shit ton of death. I just think its more realistic if you describe the blood and such, but i know when too much is too much.
On sexual assault– I have a character that gets (to put it gently) assaulted by the Big Bad™ in the second book of the series. But she spends the next book completely a wreck/healing from it and there's a ton of character development with her AND her actual SO. My point is that authors need to understand that situations that are mentally scarring for characters need to be done right with proper research into how one reacts and moves on from it. It's not a plot point if you don't give it a resolution.
Going from assault, Death. It can be traumatic. And sometimes the effects can last for many many years. I wish people knew that instead of merely killing someone for GRIMDARK purposes or to "advance the plot".
And I really don't mind gore if it isn't overwhelming and makes sense in the story. Obviously I am not one for sex. The most I have is some sexual tension as well as off screen/suggested rape of non characters and coming close to it with a main. But writing that part made me feel so ulgh. I was lucky though. My xgf threw up after roleplaying as a creep.
Same. It's one thing for a character to react to grief by pushing past it and ignoring it, but the entire cast will not react that way. People experience death in different ways, I know the way I react to death very different to how my sister does, or my friends.
Two MCs in my main story lose their closest loved ones at around the same time, and while Meg has more internal conflict over it (she's upset but still doesn't know how to feel since her relationship with the person was very strained by the time she died), Jon breaks down for a week or so and is kind of numb for a while after. And Therese doesn't know how to feel because yes, Oliver was her brother, but she didn't really know him, he always felt more like a semi-distant cousin to her, Joan, Nell, Nich, and Samuel have no idea how to react because yeah they're sad he's dead, he was someone they knew of/by association but didn't know.
Grief can be fascinating to explore, one of my favorite examples is DUME (S4 E9 of Star Wars Rebels). In the episode before, Kanan (the dad friend and one of the group leaders) died using the Force to hold off an explosion, allowing the rest of the crew to escape. In DUME, we see how everyone reacts differently (Sabine and Zeb hunt down and plan to murder the man who they think is responsible, the normally tough Hera breaks down and laments not telling him that she was pregnant with his child and makes a spot for him on a family artifact celebrating lost loved ones, the usually apathetic Chopper pauses going by Kanan's room, then goes to comfort Hera, and Ezra falls into denial until he meets a loth wolf.
Why are they discussing the character peeing in the first place???
RIGHT??
THERE SHOULDN'T BE BATHROOM SCENES UNLESS SOMETHING IMPORTANT HAPPENS. AND EVEN THEN, NO ONE GIVES A SHT ABOUT THEM ACTUALLY PEEING
Why are they discussing the character peeing in the first place???
RIGHT??
I don't want to hear about it, unless it is 100% necessary to the plot somehow. And even then, gross.
ggod cis men are fucking gross
How do we know this is only a cis men thing?
How do we know this is only a cis men thing?
i've never read a single book written by a cis female or a trans person that ever shows peeing in graphic unnecessary detail, unless it's actually really relevant to the plot, but even then it's handled tastefully and very little is actually described
and every single cis male-directed show that i've ever seen has several scenes where some guy is peeing
and it's not even relevant to the plot
it's so gross
That is hella odd. But you can hardly blame cis peeps for that any more that you can blame the gays for the gay agenda because of James Charles Lol.
i mean
ur not wrong
i just find cis men focus too much on it but w/e lmao
James Charles though. It's really messed up. I really feel for the lgbt peeps at this time. Doesn't matter who you are, there will always be someone pointing out the trash that's affiliated with your group in order to try and bring it down.
It's so their dick can be onscreen/described in the book

No one was talking about how it was terrible of him to talk about having sex with straight guys until Tati said she was uncomfortable and a bunch of other stuff happened. I was really upset.
Yaaaaaayy youtubeeeeee draamaaaaaaa

Dude. He honestly didn't even do anything. So what if he hit on a few straight guys?? Once he knew that they weren't interested he backed off.
Not like straight men that hit on lesbians because they're pervs and think girl on girl is hot. It's the same shit. People need to stop being such fucking snowflakes about every little thing.
The entire thing I heard (and so did the rest of the world I believe) is that he purposefully went after the straight dudes because they were 'more of a challenge'.
Straight guys hit on lesbians and ace/aro people because they see them as 'more of a challenge' but no one calls them on it
Actually, from what I've seen at least, a lot of people call them out on it…
I definitely would. Only messed up peeps wouldn't.
