@berlioz

I'm going maskless for the first time in two years at school
Feeling reckless
Also my face changed a bit (I'm all mature now that's right I did taxes this year) so I'm worried people won't recognize me

On food fantasy, I was playing as Tangyuan in the balcony and a little girl character said, "I miss Tangyuan-chan 🥺" and Tangyuan was there serving here and was like "oh Tangyuan is out working."

@Althalosian-is-the-father book

yeah and like I get that, I just think the people who are so butt-hurt about the idea are hilarious

Well some of them are spurred only by homophobia ofc. But there are many allies even that find the labelling of heterosexual things gay harmful to male relationships. Modern society is extremely harmful to men. Not to distract from the amount misogyny there is, but men have it rough. And the best way—well, I can’t say for sure. But a good way—to reduce the harm and in society, propagated largely by men, is making it socially acceptable for men to be emotionally expressive of their love outside of Eros. Modern western society is hyperfixated on romance/sexual attraction, holding them up as the peak of… humanity perhaps? It’s extremely harmful. Thankfully, there has been some pushback to that, largely thanks to a shifting understanding of the importance of romance, probably brought by the understanding of the damage hookup culture can bring in favor of the deep fulfillment true friendship brings, as well as the beginning of acceptance towards asexuals. It has always been more palatable by the almighty gods of society for women to find strength and solace together, likely due to misogyny and a shared enemy that men just don’t have to deal with. This leaves men alone, looking for love, trying to find companionship in other males who are stifled by those self same gods, call them the bonds of patriarchy if you will. These men are where we get incels as a good example, but all sorts of men who turn in the absence of a loving environment to destruction.
I might not be the most accepting of The Gays, but I sure don’t hate y’all. That’s said, and it is not only I but gays included, who find the most loving relationship viewed through a romantic/sexual lens to be disheartening at best.
By the time I was in college, I had gotten over my wariness of the gays. That said, it was still disturbing to be called gay—bullied is a bit too heavy a sentence, but it wasn’t nice either—just from attempting to show love to a friend.
I must point out this isn’t because I was labeled gay. That wasn’t it. If a guy hit on me I would not be mad at all. It was the taking of something pure and beautiful and painting it with the shallow brush of sexual attraction, which is handled with a lightness bordering on contempt.

@Becfromthedead group

You literally don't have to remind us all the time that you're not the biggest fan of the gays. It's not even relevant to the topic for you to have slipped it in. You know how many queer (kids, mind you!) use this site. It's kind of insensitive at this point.
I'm not even going to address the rest because my energy is best left to other things, but god, there's a lot of stuff to unpack there.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Dom. I understand (i think) what you're trying to say, but uhm.

taking of something pure and beautiful and painting it with the shallow brush of sexual attraction, which is handled with a lightness bordering on contempt.

you were talking about aces earlier in that same paragraph?? aces don't experience sexual attraction, just romantic? so I hope you realize how this is coming across (platonic male friendship = good, gay = bad). Basically you're saying that gay relationships are shallow and based purely on sex which, big oof

anyways. I was just making fun of homophobic people, I'm aware that guys can be friends and be physically affectionate. you're blowing this a bit out of proportion

@Pickles group

Dominic no one fucking cares about your homophobic rants poorly disguised as "caring about male friendships" and I've made it extremely clear that this chat is not the place for any of that. So if you can't deal with that, get out because I have no tolerance or patience for homophobia or people repeatedly breaking my rules. End of story. No more discussion.

@Althalosian-is-the-father book

Ay, Bec, it was insensitive and I'm sorry there. I meant to point out my own bias and get it out of the way before anyone else did.

So what I meant, Ice was that sexual/romantic relationships were prone to shallowness, as opposed to friendship, which held more meaning. I do understand that gay relationships are as loving as straight ones. I did take it a bit far; it just touched on something I'm rather passionate about and said passion took the wheel.

@Becfromthedead group

If you're sorry, maybe stop saying it instead of giving shallow apologies :/
Because this is not the first time
You're a grown ass man and can figure out the time and place to say things like that. (Which imo is never, but read the room ffs)
There's also the fact that this all reeks of purity culture, but there's no time to address that.

@larcenistarsonist group

Bro and like- romantic relationships can be just as deep as platonic ones. I've never really understood your whole bias thing against romantic gay relationships and why you're so desperate to insist that friends can do that (hmmm perhaps the homophobia?) But there's no point with you where you're like"okay yeah this is a lil gay".

Cmon man

@Musical_Queen

I wish not to adult anymore. I will be returning my soul to the woods and have my corpse buried with a wifi router so Mothman may see the Buzzfeed Unsolved episode on him

@Becfromthedead group

Thinking about how my partner is a triple Gemini (sun, moon, and rising signs). I literally can't make this shit up
They're the most Gemini to ever Gemini so I guess it makes sense

@NotSoBeautifulDiseaster group

Am I the only that thinks the plot of this game is pretty messed up

Basically we just found this new land and steal the lizard people's food and apparently we have to beat them up and steal their land. So basically, this is colonization: candy crush edition

@Yamatsu

I suppose it's no better than Cookie Run Kingdom where a character has a literal crisis of faith that the gods she worships are only trying to eat her.
