What if, instead of it being Norman Bates pretending to be his mom and having her corpse stashed away somewhere it were the other way around? Norma pretending to be Norman and keeping his corpse in a room.

Yes, it does! I've always considered The Nightmare Before Christmas as both a Halloween and a Christmas movie since it covers both holidays.
