Alright! I need help planning an outfit for my first day of school next year-
yes, I know it's several months away, but I need to plan and I need to probably buy things lol
So! I'm moving to a new school, in a very conservative area, and I'm going to be in that school system for my Senior year only. I need a first-day outfit that screams Gay, but low key enough that conservatives won't understand but other LGBTQ+ will

@croccin-champagne

first: the makeup is big! if masks weren't required id suggest learning to contour a lil, but eyeliner is a big one! natural eyeshadow might help too, versus bright colors. and big yes to a new cut. I'll get some suggestions when I'm home!!

this article is very anti aging, but it'll still give you tips to looking older. also laugh and smile a lot. crow's feet and laugh lines are usually considered a sign of age(i have very mixed feelings on this) so it'll add a couple years in most people's eyes.

also bec is right swim! button downs would be a great classy/conservative item that's just out of place enough on a teen to make them look gay to other gays. flannels would be good too. if you have a beanie, that could work, or a denim or leather jacket. boots are a good one for that too, especially clunky boots. i recommend something really subtly rainbow as well, or something with frogs/mushrooms/etc. also consider watching/reading something known for having a gay character in it, and maybe get a shirt or some sort of classy merch item from that. hell, even just media that's been popularized by the queer community. like a will and grace t-shirt or something lmao

Thanks! I've got got an idea-
Purple beanie, it's the only one I got but I love it, my orange flannel shirt (I'll try to buy a button-down one if I get the chance, I want one anyway lol), my leather jacket, black skirt, my boots, and hopefully my rainbow bracelet. Most all of my media is gay in some way lol. I don't have much but I hope it works

Aight, I'm muslim and I wear an abaya to work. The ones I wear are normally black or have a simple, consistent print on them but the shape of the abaya is the same though.

I want to know how to accessorise it without being too "flashy" and keeping it work appropriate. I have keys to the store, my phone, and a water mister. I work alone because the store is pretty small.

Any ideas?

@croccin-champagne

big agree!! also do all of them have sleeves like that? because if there are any you have that have tighter sleeves near the top, upper arm cuffs might be fun! fabric gloves could lend a really classy and sophisticated touch to it as well, and even rings on top of that

@StarkSpangledMayflower_Mad_Elder

I had one with decorative cuffed sleeves but it got ruined

And to stick with the 2020/21 theme, what kind or mask should i use? I wanted something printed or a light colour but my hijabs are normally in pastel shades or my abaya has a print

Lace fingerless gloves, does that work?

@croccin-champagne

I think a light colored mask thats in a complimentary color to your hijabs would be just fine! like blue and a slightly darker blue, pink and purple, etc. black, white, and grey are pretty universal colors as well. heck, you could probably find a mask in the same color and with the same possible patterns to your Abaya!

oh gosh yes. I think that'd look so cool!! kinda giving off queenly vibes there

@south-is-a-tad-bit-outraged

okay so there is a girl on my softball team with bangs like this https://bit.ly/3vJPyjw except straighter and chunkier i guess, and i like really vibe with them but i've seen a few other people with the same thing so i'm contemplating getting them but i guess i want to know how "popular" they are just so i don't cut my hair and make it look like i'm hopping on a trend and have them go out of style next week. so i kinda have three questions

  1. how "popular" are they?
  2. would they work for my face shape (kind of rectangular/oval)?
  3. should i cut them myself or go somewhere to get them cut?

i'm so sorry this was unnecessarily long

@Becfromthedead group

  1. I think they're popular, but I think they've had some level of popularity for a while, so you wouldn't be jumping on a bandwagon
  2. Yeah, they'd honestly probably look good, regardless of face shape, and you can make small adjustments as needed
  3. Generally for bangs of any sort, it's a good idea to go somewhere to get them cut. Bangs are tricky.

Anyone know of any good brands of shorts that make slightly longer shorts, but are still actually cute? I have really short legs and I look bad in men's shorts

@croccin-champagne

oooo uh not on me right now, but I do have a couple pairs of shorts that are almost cargo-like but women's that I like. when I get home ill check the brand! normally I dislike longer shorts but I actually really like this white pair I have

@ElderGod-Icefire

Question: I recently got braces, and with that plus my height plus a, ahem, very small chest, I look like a freshman. I need some suggestions to look older without haircuts? Can't cut my hair. Could potentially dye it?? I'm also not great at makeup so

@croccin-champagne

the shorts I have are from fashion bug, and also lane bryant has p good stuff like that, though most is plus size(not an ish if you are. obvi). you HAVE to shop clearance tho. theyre expensive otherwise
