@ElderGod-Winter-The-Renegade-Legionnaire book

So I believe in the rapture, and basically, all those who believe in Christ will be taken up before all the tribulation stuff starts. It says it will happen in the blink of an eye, which means poof and we're gone. No pain no suffering, just kinda sorta teleported into Heaven. And as for the mark of the beast, I dunno. But there's somewhere in the revelation about a 7 year period, and I believe that's the tribulation. Where there no spirit, no conscious, just people doing bad things and not feeling guilty about it. But there will be people who know what they are doing is wrong and stop, and they will be persecuted. God will save those people. Plus there's the thing about the 144,000 chosen people of God, which is supposed to be the 12 tribes of Israel. 12,000 from each tribe. They are supposed to go out and save people. And as for the antichrist, I don't want to be on this planet when it comes to be…

Personally I think the Rapture is more of a parable or metaphor but idk.

@Althalosian-is-the-father book

The end times stuff freaks me out, tbh. Do you guys believe in the rapture? I was always taught everyone who knows Jesus will be raptured before all the tribulation stuff begins, so if that's true we don't even have to worry about the mark of the beast since that comes after. But I barely know anything about those prophecies.

You know what I just realized? We're all gunna see each other in heaven. Like. Idk that's neat.

The Rapture doctrine was created only a few years ago (historically) and had no proof (according to the dude who made it up). It's wishful thinking. Christians haven't been spared torture before. It'll happen again.

Also, I would like to know, what are your denominations of faith? As myself, I am part of The Church Of God. (Now contrary to popular belief, we do not play with snakes. That was a one time thing when a snake climbed up onto a pulpit and the preacher grabbed it and threw it out the nearest window.) We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, where the Spirit of God falls, and people speak in Tounges, a language that no one understands besides God. It can sound anywhere from gibberish, to screaming and crying, to where it sounds kinda like Chinese? I dunno. It's just amazing to experience. That's all I know.

I genuinely didn't know that but that's interesting! Speaking of made up things, it's weird how Dante's vision of hell is the most popular when hell is really just separation from God and heaven is closeness to God from what I understand.

@Tired-but-passionate

My family says we’re Protestant, but they say my church is Pentecostal, and I’m not really educated on the differences and stuff, so ehhhhhhhhhhh.
But we believe in all the stuff you mentioned, Winter. Most of the experiences I’ve had where people speak in tongues mostly sounded like gibberish or repeated sounds or syllables. They were often followed by translations. I’d get chills every time.

What about all this then

100 verses. Lemme see…

@berlioz

Not exactly 100, as most of those verses are repeated, but still enough to convince me of a rapture. I do believe people will become Christians after the rapture, so they'll stick around and be persecuted/help save others. I think Winter summed up well what I believe about the rapture. I think all the 144,000 Jews will be saved as well, but won't be raptured.

@Althalosian-is-the-father book

1 is talking about The End. Not before. 2 was directly spoken to the Church at Philidelphia. 3 has no bearing on the Rapture. Same with 4. Skipping to 10 bc same w the others. 10 is still about The End. 11 n/a. 12 after the flood, wasn't it a good thing to be left? So this verse isn't close to proof.
I could go through all of it, but that would take forever and I think this proves the point.

There is a thought that the Jews will be converted at the Second Coming. After all, they didn't accept Jesus because he wasn't the conquering Messiah in the physical sense. But he will be when he returns.

@berlioz

I'm looking into the rapture theory. You may be right, Dom. Regardless of rapture or no rapture, Jesus will come back sometime and that's what really matters I suppose. Personally, prophecy doctrine and theory has always bored me lol.

@Althalosian-is-the-father book

Honestly I think it matters in a big way; but also not simultaneously. Proper doctrine is important. But whether the Rapture is a deal or not, we still have our instructions laid out for us. Rapture or lack of doesn't change that.

I'm not even sure what denomination I am. Technically I was baptized Catholic and I still go to the Catholic church on Saturday nights, but I also go to a Baptist church Sunday mornings because reasons and stuff. So I'm kind of both.

I'm so glad there are so many Christians here! I consider myself a Baptist, though, I'm a bit young in my faith having accepted Christ last year :D

Fellow baby Christian! I got saved and was baptized 3 years ago, but then put God on the backburners :(
Currently rebuilding my relationship with God :D

We never practiced it in the nondenominational church (although it was more based in I think Baptist beliefs than anything) but in the Lutheran and Episcopalian ones we do. Had to be baptized to do it at our Episcopalian church but like, I'd been baptized as a baby by my Papa and I also chose to do it myself later in life like, actively, so… Idk I guess I'm double baptized then.
