”Thank you.” Abby smiled. ”Which books have you read?” she asked noticing as Bates crawled on her. ”I hope this means he likes me. Did you make this little guy?”
”Thank you.” Abby smiled. ”Which books have you read?” she asked noticing as Bates crawled on her. ”I hope this means he likes me. Did you make this little guy?”
Ava gave a small glare at Bates. "Yes. I did. Anyways some of the one's I read were mostly about climate, politics, and health. Though I did find some books that I'm not sure were fiction or not." She explained.
Abby nodded. ”I can help you tell the difference if you'd like.” she offered. ”Aside from causing you some trouble what was he made for?” she asked as she hesitantly petted the surprisingly adorable spider-like robot.
Bates leaned into Abby. "See! She dosent think I need upgrades." He protested to Ava.
"We'll talk about that later." Ava said to Bates. "Anyways, I've established books like Lord of the ring's and books similar to those are fiction but there areally ones that are called historical fiction and I'm not all that sure of what that means."
Abby chuckled continuing to pet Bates. ”I’ve only read a couple of those kind of books because they can be a little hard to read depending on what time period they're set in. Um, a couple examples of that I can think of is Pride and Prejudice, Sherlock Holmes is technically historical fiction.” she explained kind of weakly.
"So it's based off of a period in your history but the story didn't happen?" Ava asked, to assure it.
Abby nodded. ”That’s right. They can even reference an event that actually happened in history to make the story more interesting. But unless you know the history it can get confusing.” she confirmed.
Ava nodded a bit. "Oh! Come on in! Sorry about that!" She said her ear shooting up when she realized that she had kept them waiting.
"I'll get Max and Ev!" Bates said happily as he scurried into the other room.
”It’s alright. Thank you.” Abby smiled reassuringly as she walked into the main room of their apartment-like home, looking around and admiring the style of it.
Ava lead them in and sat down on the long couch that almost circled the room. Zara and Nyt were chatting casually looking as butch as possible as they sat down.
Abby sat down near Nyt but facing Ava. ”Is there anything you want to ask me? I’ll do my best to answer.” she smiled a little nervously. I really need to work on my conversation starters.
Ava smiled. "Now about the masks." She asked shyly.
Bates ran back in the room cackling. There was a crash in the other followed by some muffled cursing.
Abby chuckled. ”We need them to breathe for now unless we’re in a special room until the scientists can figure out how the air changed and how to fix it. We can't breathe nitrogen as easily as you can.” she explained, leaving out when it happened. She jumped a bit at the crash and raised a brow at Bates. ”I see now why you call him a trouble maker.”
Bates cackled as he climbed up Abby. "He deserved it anyways!" He giggled.
More clanging came from the other room before another robot papered in the door way, covered in a black liquid substance. "Bates! Get over here so I can wring you tiny f#c%!ng neck." It said in a deep glitch voice. He was about to do so before he realized Abby was that. He starred at her for a bit before looking at Ava for a confermation of somekind. Ava nodded and he went back into the other room.
Ava turned her attiontion back to Abby. "You breath oxygen, correct?" She asked. "Also Bates, getting someone does not mean getting them so angry that they come stoming after you."
Abby watched wide-eyed as the new robot came in and left. Well, that happened… she cleared her throat and focused back on Ava, nodding. ”Yes, well… Mostly oxygen. It's actually a combination of other gasses but I'm not sure what the other gasses are. Pure oxygen can actually be deadly as well, I think.”
Ava nodded. ”We can breath pure nitrogen either. That's a bit confusing to why you would need it after we came. There wasn't anything we could of brung to do that to the air.” She said, furrowing her brows. ”And especially since the plant life has grown since we got here. That should of helped the issue.”
Abby shrugged. ”I don't understand how or why either. All I know is that it somehow did.” she explained unaccusingly. ”Did you make that other robot as well?”
Ava nodded. ”I made another one as well but she is rebooting. That one was Max. He was my first one. Which is why he looks so…beaten up. I keep telling him that he needs to get some up grades but he refuses.” She explained.
A few minutes later Max came back in looking much cleaner. ”I'm sorry about that, miss. I didn't know you were here.” He said to Ava.
(BTW Im imagining that he looks a bit like B.E.N. from Treasure Planet, just slightly better looking.)
Abby gave an impressed smile. ”Nyt told me you were a theorist. She didn't tell me you were mechanically brilliant.” she complimented turning to Max. ”It’s alright, Max. I’ve heard worse.”
Ava chuckled. ”Well I have to do something other than theorize. I actually met Nyt at a robotic convention.” She explained.
Max nodded. ”I’m still sorry. I shouldn’t of done that.” He apologized.
Abby nodded. ”That makes sense. Nyt works on robotic repairs.” she remembered. ”Max, seriously, considering what this little mischievous imp did to you, ” she gestured to Bates, ”I think he’s is the one who should apologize.”
Bates skittered around onto Abby´s back so Max couldn't see him.
Max waved it off. ”I´ll deal with the pest later. I know how to take his legs off anyways.” He said, grinning.
”That´s if you can catch me!” Bates taunted.
Ava pinched the bridge of her nose but let them argue.
Abby rolled her eyes with a chuckle at the familiar sibling bickering. ”You know if you both let Ava upgrade you every once in a while you wouldn't have trouble keeping up with Bates,” she suggested to Max before looking over her shoulder at the little spider, ”and your legs would be harder for Max to take off.”
Both of them grimaced at the thought getting upgrades.
Ava on the other hand started laughing. "Abby. I'll be honest for you. If you could get them to want to do upgrades, I will start worshiping you."
Abby laughed at their expressions. ”You two look like a couple of kids who just got told that you have a doctor's appointment tomorrow or something.” she chuckled. ”No need for that Ava. Just trying to help out. But I am curious why they hate upgrades so much.”
