Abby smiled, nuzzling Nyt back. ”One small step.” she agreed, trying not to complete the famous quote.
Nyt chuckled. "Do you want lunch?" She asked, standing up.
(Sure!)
Abby nodded, standing to follow her.
Nyt sat on the couch, her tail flicking nervously. Though she was pretty sure it would turn out well she wasby sure how he would react at first.
Abby was in the other room at the moment, running her fingers through her hair, trying to tame it a bit. She didn't want to drop the bomb on the guy as soon as he walked in. Hopefully Nyt will give me a signal.
The door bell rang. Nyt got up and answered it.
Adar tapped his foot at the door. Nyt had messaged him yesterday saying that she found a really cool human thing. I wonder what it could be. Nyt then opened the door. "Hey Nyt!" He said awaiting the enevtable bear hug.
Abby took a deep breath when she heard Adar was here. It’s ok. He's a friend. she bit back a chuckle. Buddy, are you in for a surprise.
Nyt smiled and gave him the bear hug he had been expecting. "Ready to see something that will blow your mind?" She asked with a sly smile.
Adar chuckled. "You say that every time." He said. His hair swirled up like Nyt's but not as long and he had icy blue eyes. He walked in after Nyt.
Abby smiled, stepping into view. ”Only thing is I think she means it this time. It's nice to meet you, Adar.”
Adar froze. He stared at Abby for a bit. "Y-You're h-" He was cut off by Nyt.
"Yes. She's human. Adar, this is Abby." Nyt said walking over to her and wrapping a tail around her waist. A sign of trust and affection.
Abby smiled, trying to stay calm when Nyt held her. It helped a lot, but she didn't really know what to say. ”Hi.” she gave a small wave.
"H-Hi!' Adar managed to stammer out. "Y-You're real! I thought…" He said trailing off.
"Well, they're not all dead." Nyt chuckled. "and it's not just a few."
”He’s taking this pretty well.” Abby addressed Nyt. ”Honestly, you guys did get close to wiping us out but there's still a fair number of us out there.” she confirmed.
Nyt nodded. "He is taking it pretty well, for him." She joked.
Adar shook his head. "Sorry! It's a lot to take in. How…umm…how did you meet?" He asked, his tail twitching.
”It’s alright, Adar. Take your time.” Abby reassured. ”I was hurt and needed someplace safe for a night when I found Nyt’s shed. She surprised me when she decided to take care of me.”
Adar nodded. "How many of you are there?" He asked, bewildered.
Abby shrugged. ”I'm not sure of an exact number but… I’d guess a couple hundred back home.”
Adar blew air out of his mouth. "That's a lot."
Nyt nodded. "And we have their stuff."
Abby chuckled. ”It doesn't really count as a small town honestly. Nyt did mention that you're a collector as well?”
"I know she's a collector," Adar said. "We both are. Though her collection is a lot bigger than mine is." He explained.
”Yeah, it is pretty impressive.” Abby agreed. ”Is there anything specific you collect or just general human stuff?” she blushed very lightly. ”I’m sorry, I'm not very good at small talk.”
Nyt chuckled. "It fine Abby."
"I mostly just collect general stuff. Unlike Nyt. She collects literally everything." He snickered.
”So I noticed.” Abby laughed with them. ”Somehow she's actually managed to get some pretty hard to find stuff.”
(bump)
(My god! I thought I replied to this!)
"I can admit her collection is pretty impressive. We had always joked around that Nyt would be the one to find a human but we never took it seriously." Adar confessed. "After all, humans were extinct, right?"
Nyt scratched behind her head. "Oh yeah! I forgot about that." She chuckled.
