Nyt nodded. "You're right. Peter seems pretty strong." She said, looking out the window.
Mark groaned and started to lay Caleb down. "We can't keep carrying him. Run to Nyt and get their help." Mark told Peter as he checked on Caleb's vitals to make sure he didn't die on them.
”He is.” Abby agreed. ”Don’t tell him I said this but despite being a complete hot-head, he was one of my favorite sparring partners. There were always a few that held back against me. Caleb was usually on par with me but Peter pushed me.” she gave a small smile at the memory.
Peter gave Mark a slight look of disbelief, before running to the house. He wasn't the fastest runner in their group, which is why he didn't waste time arguing. He knew less about first aid compared to Mark and he was the only other one awake who knew where Nyt lived.
"You spared?" Nyt asked, still looking out the window. "Abby? Is that something running down the hill?" Nyt asked, sitting up a bit more.
Adar looked up at this. He stood up and walked over to the window. "There's something running but it's not an animal." He said.
Caleb's vitals were doing fine. Mark sighed. Nyt would be able to help. She picked up Peter like he was nothing and she helped bandage up Abby.
Abby barely nodded to Nyt’s first question when she looked out the window at the following comments. ”It’s Peter!” she smiled a bit at seeing her friend, though her happiness faded quickly. ”Peter only runs when there’s trouble. Why is he alone?” She started to worry, darting towards the door.
Peter didn't slow down as the house getting closer. ”Abby!!!! Get your Alien girlfriend out here, NOW!!!!” He wasn't sure if he was close enough to be heard but he had to try.
Nyt shot up out of her seat and out the door. "What happened?" She yelled as she ran up to Peter.
Adar ran outside as well. This human looked quite different than Abby did. He had a slightly more muscular build and shorter hair.
Out of concern, Abby slammed into Peter to stop his momentum and immediately started checking him for injuries. Peter, of course, noticed this and gripped Abby’s arms shaking his head. ”I’m fine, Abby. It's not me, it's Caleb. We were attacked by a wolf spider on the way here. He’s hurt bad. Me and Mark can't carry him here fast enough.” he managed to explain through panting breaths.
Nyt's eyes widened. "Was he bit?" She asked as she started running towards the woods, pulling Peter along.
Adar looked back and forth between Nyt and Abby for a bit before grabbing Abby with his tail and running after them. He seemed very nervous about holding Abby.
Peter quickly recovered and tried to lead as best he could, ”I’m not sure. He is unconscious.”
”Whoa!” Abby yelped, very surprised when Adar picked her up. She was normally a faster runner than Peter but she doubted that she could keep pace with the two Slyvians, so she didn't struggle against him this time. ”Next time; ask first.”
"You do know that wolf spider bites are venomous, right?" Nyt said, running faster.
Adar ran after them. "S-Sorry!" He said.
Mark saw Nyt and…another alien running towards them. He relaxed slightly. Some of the other humans stepped a few paces back or gasped but they didn't move other than that. There were a lot of looks of surprise and confusion.
”Of course, I know that! Why do you think I ran to get you for help!” Peter gasped angrily as he tried to catch his breath.
”Oh my God! Caleb! Mark, how bad is he?” Abby begged, seeing his poor condition. ”Adar, put me down.”
Adar set Abby down before apologizing again.
Nyt knelt down next to Caleb. She scanned over him. "Was he bit?" She asked Mark.
Mark shook his head. "He got close once but he's just banged up." He explained.
”Well, that's good news at least.” Abby knelt next to Caleb’s unconscious body, her deep worry apparent on her face. ”If we take him back to the house, we can help him, right?” her voice quivered.
Nyt looked over Caleb. "I think we should be able to patch him up. Adar! Could you hold him?" She asked.
Adar walked over to Caleb. He looked down at him and fell head over heels. Caleb looked so cute and hot to Adar. "S-Sure!" He squeaked, his ears turning slightly gray as he picked him up.
Mark stood up after Adar picked Caleb up.
Abby raised a brow seeing Adar blush but chose, instead, to address the group of humans that her friends had brought. ”Alright, everyone. I need you to follow me and please stay calm and keep up. Caleb is going to be fine, he’s in good hands. This is Nyt and Adar. They are my friends. I promise I’ll explain everything once we take care of Caleb at Nyt’s home.” She had never been one for speeches but she figured she would have to get used to it.
Peter gave a light scoffing laugh at Adar. He had only seen Nyt’s ears turn gray once so he wasn't completely sure what it meant. But he recognized the look on the blue-eyed Alien’s face as he picked up Caleb. You have got to be sh!+ing me.
People looked around at each other but they all nodded. They trusted Abby. They began to start walking.
Nyt stood up and started to walk back to her house, making sure no one got left behind or forgotten. (I had to make the reference.)
Adar started walking, looking at Caleb as he headed to Nyt's house. Is this why Nyt was so cuddly with Abby? I always found that were but now I understand.
(Lol! I always loved that movie!)
Abby was quiet as she helped lead the group, her eyes occasionally darting to Caleb’s limp form.
Peter noticed Abby's solemn demeanor and carefully placed a hand on her shoulder. ”He’ll pull through, Abby.”
Nyt eventually got back to the house and invited everybody in. "Lay Caleb on the couch!" She told Adar.
Adar nodded and laid him down on the couch and ran to go get the first aid kit.
(Sorry it took me so long. I'm working on a project with my dad.)
(It's ok. I'm stuck at work right now, so I'm not going to be as quick to respond as I would like for a while. Sorry.)
Abby knelt beside the couch and carefully removed Caleb’s shirt so his injuries could be treated easily.
Peter simply stood as a silent sentry for the time, in between the small number of humans he lead here and the makeshift ”medical” team.
Adar came back into the room with bandages, alcohol and a rag. He handed them to Nyt.
Nyt took the medical supplies gratefully and set them down next to her. She began to wipe all Caleb's scrapes and cuts down.
Mark went around to the people and made sure they were all calm.
Caleb groaned when felt something touch his wounds.
Abby grabbed Caleb’s hand, hoping to reassure him. ”Caleb, it's ok. You're safe now. We’re just treating your wounds. You'll be fine.” She said with a hint of relief.
"Abby?" He groaned as he opened his eyes. "What happened?"
Nyt grabbed the alcohol. "This is going to hurt." She said before rubbing the alcohol on his wounds.
Adar stared at Caleb as he opened his eyes. He has such beautiful blue eyes. They look nothing like mine. His ears turned gray again and his tail twitched.
Peter took a couple of steps forward. ”You tried to play hero against a wolf spider.” he answered in a blunt and teasing tone.
”You got a little beat up but Mark said you didn't get bit.” Abby continued.
Caleb hissed after Nyt applied the alcohol and tried to sit up. "I feel like I just had my first sparring match against you, Abby." He mumbled. His gaze shifted over to Adar. "Who's that?" He asked.
Nyt pushed Caleb back down and continued dressing his injuries.
Adar perked up when Caleb focused. "Oh! Hello! I'm Adar. A friend of Nyt." He said with a smile. O my stars! What if I'm messing this up? Humans have a thing they do when they greet, right? Should I do it? Is he too hurt to do it? Is it a human-only thing?
Abby chuckled at the joke. ”I don't think I beat you this badly. But I have to ask;” her tone shifted to something between angry and deep concern, ”What were you thinking trying to take on a wolf spider alone! If I ever hear of you doing something like that again…”
”Ok, Abby. You made your point.” Peter interrupted, placing a hand firmly on her shoulder. ”Yes, it was stupid of him but if he hadn't stepped up like that, someone else, with less fighting skills, would have gotten bit.”
Caleb winced at the lecture. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry alright!" He said. "Well, it's nice to meet you Adar. I'm sorry you had to meet Abby first." He joked.
Nyt chuckled. "You can wait until I'm done patching him up before you mom him Abby." She said as she got the bandages and, finally, began to wrap his cuts.
Adar smiled. "W-Well it's nice to meet you too!" He said smiling. O my stars! His voice is so smooth sounding. Does my voice should good to him? What does he think of me?
