(Lol my bad I had to take a break for a bit)
"Of course, boy. That just goes to show how much you don't know."
Oh no. No, no no. Azura thought to herself. This is not time for discussion.
"I'm going after your mother, you deal with him," she said, and waited for some sort of acknowledgement from Farron.
Farron nodded once, not taking his eyes off of the older man, "Go. Hurry."
And with that, Azura turned and sprinted in the direction of the men that went after Andra. They had a reasonable head start, so it took her a while to even be able to see them.
Farron eyed Sarge warily, ready to attack at any point, "Explain, Sarge."
The three men were jogging, so it was even harder for Azura to catch up with them. She decided to take a few shortcuts so she wouldn't have to pass them to get to the queen.
Andra stopped running at the gates to catch her breath. She knew Sarge would’ve sent men after her, and hopefully her son and the princess were coming to find her. But a second instinct told her to run. Run far away and never ever come back.
Azura rand blindly through thick patches of trees, branches slapping her face and body. Don't stop, she told herself, even though she really wanted to. She was getting tired, she must have run about 3/4 of a mile. When she saw the wall come into view, she was motivated to run a bit harder. She finally got to the wall, and made a sharp turn around one of the corners.
Andra wasn't that far away, and when she spotted Azura, she ran the rest of the way over to her, "Where's Farron?"
"He's taking care of Sarge. Those men," she huffed, out of breath, "They're coming for you. We have to go."
Andra frowned, "We can't leave without him."
"If we don't leave now, we may not have another chance. But here's what we do: We go back to the barn the way I came and catch Sarge by surprise. Can you use a sword?"
She nodded, "I can. It's too dangerous, though. You could get hurt and they could take me away again."
"I promised Farron that I would do everything in my power to bring you back, and that's what I intend to do. He needs you," Azura breathed. She suddenly snapped back to reality. "Anyway, we need to get going, the men that Sarge sent after you will be here any minute."
"Can we fight them off here? If we head back they'll only be more guards," Andra pinched the bridge of her nose, "If we pick them off here, Farron should be on his way, right? He'll be able to fight off Sarge for long enough to escape."
Azura paused for a minute. Her gut was telling her to say no, but maybe Andra was right. "Alright. We'll stay here. Let's hide in the trees and wait for them."
Andra nodded once, alread making her way over to the trees, “So, is there anything going on between you and my son?”
Azura’s shoulders tensed a bit, and her bangs flopped onto her face as she was taken aback by the question. She made what seemed to be a quick recovery, however, and made a short response.
“I’m not really sure. It hasn’t exactly been my focus on this whole expedition.”
Andra looked over at the younger woman, raising a brow before turning back to the road, "That's understandable."
"Anyway," Azura was quick to change the subject, "I can hear them, they're coming. Get ready."
Andra nodded and took up a position. About five men came bundling through the woods, making a right racket as they did so. They look left and right to try and find the two of them.
Azura whispered to Andra, "When I point at you, come out at them with your sword drawn. I'll go left, you go right."
(Bro we need to speed this up, I’m so bad at responding in time but it’s getting really far apart)
(I know, and I'm sorry but school is really getting to me… and I just wanted to say that I'm taking a break for a couple days to deal with school work - go figure - and a broken heart. I'll be back after the weekend is over and I might drop in once or twice but I can't promise anything. I'll be back, though. I'm sorry…)
Andra nodded, one hand on her sword already as the men drew closer and closer with every step that they took. It was almost as if time was slowing down as they neared.
(Oh ok, I totally understand, you need a break. I’m really sorry that you’re going through that rn too.ill be here when you get back!)
Azure pointed at andra, then lunged forward. Her body surged with energy as she sliced at the man closest to her, all the while dodging his swishes. Andra did the same to the man at the end of the group, so the two were outnumbered but seemed to have the upper hand. Azura couldn’t help but wonder if Farron needed help.
