“Oh, this? This is hardly a risk.”
“Oh, this? This is hardly a risk.”
"More will come, you won't be able to fight them off."
"Are you sure about that?" His flames were beginning to increase in temperature.
"They won't stop until you and the Fae monster are dead." he reassured, some guards falling from inhalation of smoke "If she doesn't die first from blood loss. Now you have a choice, fire boy. You can save her or you can let the rest of us go." the guard snarled, covering his face with his arms
"Oh, but who would dare come after your kingdom's hero, hm? Answer me that, smart guy."
"you won't be a hero for long if people find dead guards and a dead far in there woods."
“Who said they’d find you?”
"they'd notice something missing." He wheezed through the smoke
He shrugged, "But they would find nothing."
"they'll know." He said, sinking to the ground
“Oh, I can guarantee they wouldn’t.” He snapped his fingers, the flames disappeared, “And, anyway, you really think they’d be able to touch me?”
"you're a monster, just like her and her race. They'll extinguish you soon enough." The guard growled, turning away and heading back to the town, not even stoping to held his fellow soldiers
He rolled his eyes and watched him leave, glancing around the other guards. He didn’t particularly care what the townspeople thought anymore, and he knew that wasn’t the worst he had done. He let out a loud sigh.
"are they gone?" The girl asked, groaning with effort and she dragged herself from the hiding spot
“For now.”
"great." She tried to stand but wobbled.
He turned to her, brushing a small amount of ash off of his hands.
"you really need to stop trying to save my life, I'm already in your Dept from last time, now again? Oh jeez." She shook her head and caught herself on a tree
"I don't do debt." He muttered, "Stop trying to get yourself killed."
"kinda hard when you're being hunted just because of your race." She snarled softly, slumping to the ground
"Try me." He sighed, looking at his slightly burned hand.
"ok fine, did your family, everyone you've loved, you're kin, you're roots of existence, get slaughtered in front of you? And all you.could do was run and watch from afar as those you held so dear screamed for help, as their blood drenched the streets you tan as a child." She bared her teeth at him to keep a low growl down.
he didn't react to this. he had become desensitised to suffering over time, and most physical/verbal threats were just something he chose to ignore. he stretched out his fingers, looking at the burns which covered them
"hm, silence is a friend I see." She glanced down at his hand "you're affected by your abilities." She noted
"i wasn't built to handle them." he stated blankly
