Cassidy heard shouting. Great, she thought, They must be drunk. She gulped, gripped her dagger and broom, and waited for the door to open.

@Joy_

Cassidy didn't hesitate. Was it stupid? Yes, but it sounded like wolves were outside, an no one deserved that fate. She grabbed the door handle and yanked it open.

Kai quickly backed up into the building as soon as the door opened, the beasts fleeing back into the darkness. “T-thank you….”

@Joy_

Cassidy slammed the door shut. She glanced over at the man. He was young, maybe a year or two older than her. He was wearing noblemen clothes, but they were dirty and torn, and his face and hands were bloody and scratched. She looked at him wearily. "Who are you?" she demanded. "What in the name of Gothrec the Troll are you doing in a place like this in the middle of the night?"

He looked up at her, his face now visible. He murmured something under his breath and the light in his palm disappeared. He flashed her a weary smile “Prince Kai. And it would appear that my brother is trying to seize the throne.”

She took half a step back in surprise. "My apologies your highness, if I had realized you'd be dropping by, I would've cleaned the floor better." She grabbed her broom and stalked behind the counter into the kitchen area. "Is there something you'll be demanding of me?"

@Joy_

Cassidy rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath. the pretentions, arrogant…. She took a deep breath. "Okay then. Pardon me, I'll just stay out of your way while you take refuge in my humble establishment." This time, she was unable to keep the sarcasm out of her voice.

@Dragoncita group

"Remember our deal Prince, I help you tie this loose end, and once your throne is secured, you will help me find my brethren and free us. You wouldn't dare to go back on your word…would you?"

Yashiro woke up with a start. The young man swung his legs over the side of the bed, form slightly damp from a cold sweat. He ran a shaky hand through pale white hair. The Prince released a shaky sigh, his body trembling now and then.
"Ugh…these damn nightmares need to stop…"
The solemn tolling of the bell sounded overhead, the king, his father, had finally passed on to the next world. Yashiro glanced towards the window to the outside. It was dark, night…but that meant little to him. A soft creak announced the opening of the door to his room. He felt a shiver run down his spine, his grayish blue eyes landing on piece of wood and metal that swung inwards.
"Ah, you are awake Prince."
The voice was both comforting and terrifying. Yashiro had grown to welcome the voice, but in the back of his mind, he also was deeply afraid. The Prince watched as a tall male soon entered, though it was clear the man who entered was no human. Dark scales covered the areas around his eyes and down the side of his face. His ears were long and pointed, and the air he carried would make the strongest crumble to their knees.
The strange male gave the prince a soft smile, deceiving…but the beauty of it was that this Prince never seemed to notice his dark intentions. Either way, it was so easy to play with mortals when power was on the line.
"Hello Khasar," Yashiro responded.
Khasar continued to approach the prince, his form covered in a tattered cloak. Behind him, a long tail snaked from underneath the cloth, swaying ever so slightly. The dark male soon stood by the bedside. His eyes were a cold, calculating bright yellow, the pupils were mostly round, showing his calmness. Khasar suddenly sat down on the bed beside Yashiro, his tail snaking around to curl around the Prince.
Yashiro, however, didn't seem to mind. In fact, the prince lightly leaned against the other's side. He felt the claw like nails lightly run through his hair as Khasar seemingly petted his head. Despite the cold air he could give off, Khasar could also give a pleasant warmth. Yashiro was lulled by the heat often, enjoying the company of Khasar.
"Do you mourn his death?"
The prince opened his eyes, having closed them as the warmth over took his body. He didn't glance up, replying to the other, "No…I do not."
Yashiro sat back upwards, his eyes a cold ice, "My father was an old fool. He believed in forgiving those who deserved to be punished."
Khasar still had his smile as he responded, "Ah yes…your poor mother. She was such a pretty thing, a pity she had to have her life taken by a low-life. And if I remember correctly, your father simply let the murderer live, forced into servitude."
"Don't remind me," Yashiro growled. He clenched his hand in a fist, skin growing white from how hard he balled his hand.
The strange male seemingly gave a soft chuckle. He lightly wrapped his arms around the young prince, holding him close as he ran his claw-like fingers through his hair again. A forked tongue slipped past his lips, testing the air. Ah, the scent of anger and sorrow with just a tinge of fear, such a beautiful combination. Course, Khasar would never let it be known. He felt Yashiro lean into him again, pleased that this individual was so easy to manipulate…
Yashiro had leaned into the other, allowing him to hold him. It was comforting, for it only seemed Khasar was always the only one there for him. Ever since his mother, the queen, had passed, Yashiro felt he had been pushed to the side. Kai, the first born, always seemed to come before him. Father always favored him over Yashiro…
Khasar allowed the silence to last a few moments, before speaking again, "Prince Yashiro, your brother has fled the castle. I am sure he has a few 'dogs' among your men who will be following him. Shall I send out scouts to find him?"
Yashiro had his head against the other's chest. His eyes were half closed, hand running along the tail that was curled around him. Once again, it was a comfort thing for the young prince. To have someone, a parent figure, he could really look up to and looked out for him. If only he knew the truth of this beast…
"In due time Khasar…it will be more fun to let him get a head start."
Khasar suddenly grinned, showing sharp fangs. A rumble seemed to come from deep in his chest, "Very good young sire. Give the prey a running start, for it makes the hunt even more exciting."
