The princess clapped to get the attention of everyone before beginning speaking. "As you all should know, we are being tailed by Yashiro, and whoever he's made a deal with. They're probably magic beings, so they most likely know where we are right now," Dabria explained, voice loud and commanding. "This, obviously, is a problem for us currently. However, we do not have the resources to stop these being from tracking us, so there's not much we can do about that. What we can do though is plan where we're going next. It makes the most sense to me if we go to Hiyaup, as it would be the kingdom friendliest to us where we could gather resources and such. Since it is in the mountains to the north, it will be a long journey, lasting at least a month or more if there is no weather or other slowing us down, however, it there is a very low chance that nothing will interfere. There are multiple towns and cities along the way, where we may be able to stay if we disguise ourselves so there's no commotion about why knights or royals are staying in an inn." She paused and looked around to see if everyone had heard what she'd said. "Anything anyone would like to add?"
Cassidy cleared her throat. "How about a cover story? In case we're questioned by local authorities, we should all be on the same page."
"How about a group of merchants, here to sell odd things? Or travelling storytellers, travellers, or scavengers?" Fox offered
"I'm not too bad at telling stories…maybe we could be a small travelling circus or something." Rin said, as Tyche stretched and climbed off of her to go beg for pets from Cassidy. "Or maybe witches."
"I think a travelling circus is our best bet." fox offered
Cassidy stroked Tyche, thinking hard. "I don't exactly have any circus-like talents… or any talents for that matter," she admitted. "Unless you count breaking up bar fights."
"How about starting fights?* Tyche purred loudly, climbing into Cassidy's lap.
Dabria hummed. "The circus idea could work fine. We don't actually have to do anything. Just tell people who ask that we're stopping for the night on our way to a different town." She looked at Kai, waiting for his feedback.
"That is a good idea. Anyone good at sewing? We may need a change of clothes and some supplies to make our story believable."
"That is a good idea. Anyone good at sewing? We may need a change of clothes and some supplies to make our story believable."
(Dabria was just emphasizing none of that would be needed)
(Ik, but Fox was just saying that in an attempt to make it easy for them in case they get caught)
(Why would people look into some folks just passing through for one night? Sorry if this sounds rude I'm really just wondering)
(Lmao that's fine but in most fantasy books I've read, the cliche is that no matter what, they get caught so idk lol, I can delete my post though)
Dabria hummed. "The circus idea could work fine. We don't actually have to do anything. Just tell people who ask that we're stopping for the night on our way to a different town." She looked at Kai, waiting for his feedback.
He nodded “I agree. It’s doubtful that anyone will pry. After all they’re looking for a supposed spoiled royal brat. Luckily, I’m not…at least I like to make myself believe so” he chuckled. “Anyway I can do small appearance manipulation spells if needed”
Rin sat up at that, spinning to look at the prince. "No way. Flying Furies, that's so cool!" She was grinning, an excited and slightly awed look in her eyes.
"I can hide us in the shadows if we need a quick escape. Not for too long though." Fox stated
Kai chuckled lightly. “Thanks I guess, it comes in handy from time to time. Especially now”
A thought suddenly came to Dabria's mind and she laughed out loud. "Kai, did your power come in handy when you used it to make it look like you had a six-pack when we were twelve whenever you were around me?" She asked, slightly muffled by the hand she placed over her mouth.
(I saw my first chance to make fun of Kai and I took it)
Kai started at her for a second before bursting out laughing, he couldn’t help it. “Jesus Dab I forgot about that” he snorted
Rin snorted, laying back down. Those two are close. Interesting. She played with her coin, a spasm of pain shooting through her hand thanks to the blasted cut.
"I will never be able to forget The Most Awkward Time of My Childhood," Dabria said, smiling. I'm glad this is somewhat keeping his mind off of the king. We don't have the time to talk about that tonight.
Cassidy rolled her eyes, scratching Tyche under her chin as the cat purred loudly. "Well, it's late, so we should set up a watch. I can take the first go."
