(Sure!)
(Sure!)
Time passed, night starting to wane, but despite this, they would not let it hinder them. The pale, white figure glided silently through the branches, making no sound as its body became enveloped in the shadows. Beneath, moving through the brush, was the massive form of his companion, who had taken to her true form. Unlike the silent flyer, she seemed to make more noise, moving through the undergrowth, branches snapping, and trees creaking as she forced her way through. Every step the beast left a smoldering, giant paw print.
Finally, she came to a stop, raising to her hindlegs. Pointed ears perked forward, lips twitching as heated saliva dribbled downwards, hissing as it hit the ground. Red eyes glowed menacingly in the darkness of the trees, eyes settling on a cave entrance before them.
Once again, her partner alighted upon a branch, making no noise, even as his wings folded against his back. Cold, green eyes stared from the darkness, nothing like the red. Unlike the glowing red orbs, the green were calculating, nothing like the predator next to him. He was the thinker, the brain, and his partner was the brawn.
~Patience Devola. We will need to draw them out. Too little space in that cave for you or myself~.
His green eyes shifted to the side, seeing the horses currently picketed down. The pale figure's eyes narrowed ~We should get rid of those animals…a quick escape is the last thing we want~.
There was a snarl, followed by a low 'whoosh'. The beast that had once towered next to the figure who still sat in his tree had disappeared. The black mass ran right for the horses, fangs bare, hackles raised along its back. It barreled forward, smashing anything in her path, not slowing down.
As such, the horses heads shot up, instantly panicking. The animals released screams, rearing and pulling at their ties. Eventually, the ropes broke, the horses instantly cantering off into the darkness of the forest as the huge shadow sped behind, snapping, and snarling as it went.
He watched his companion for several moments as she had her 'fun', then turned his attention back to the cave entrance. Well, if they weren't going to leave sooner, that would most likely grab their attention…
(( :) well that’s great
Rin was pulled suddenly out of her half doze, by the sounds of the horses. She was on her feet in a matter of seconds, scanning the cave to make sure nothing had gotten in yet. Nothing had, so that meant it was outside. And that means we're trapped in here.
Kai sat up, looking over at Rin, surprisingly pretty calm. “Well it appears we’ve been found, sadly not by soldiers.” He sighed, what to do what to do.
"No shit, princey." Rin responded, shrugging her arm out of it's sling. If it came to a fight, the enemy didn't need to know she was injured. Man, my luck really was out. Probably still is, too.
Cassidy was already on her feet, her dagger in hand. She looked at Rin and Kai. "Wake the others, now!"
Rin nodded, pushing past her fear of the fire to make her way to Dabria, nudging the woman with her foot. Tyche was slipping out of the cave, blending with the darkness as she scouted for any sign of what had happened.
Cassidy stared after the black cat, hoping it wouldn't get hurt. She looked to her left to see Rin waking Dabria. She was suddenly very glad that the warrior-princess was there, along with the other knight. She wondered if Kai could fight, but a movement in the blackness in front of her caught her eye, distracting her from asking.
((You underestimate my skills? Lmao
Kai stood up, walking over to Cassidy, “we need a plan. I mean obviously. Anyone have any ideas for how to not die?”
"Try not dying." Rin said unhelpfully. It really wasn't the time for jokes, but she'd rather joke than let herself actually be scared. She suddenly looked up, eyes focused somewhere far off. "Oh, that's fun."
Cassidy wrenched her gaze away from the yawning blackness. "There's another exit to the tunnels, it's behind that boulder," she pointed to a large boulder at the far end of the cave. "That will lead us through a passage that opens after a few miles or so, but we have to be careful not to get lost because there are a bunch of tunnels branching off of that one."
Ahhhh once I get out of school in line four hours I'll post sorry))
(No problem!!!)
(……..bump?)
((Uh I guess I'll respond))
Rin nodded, but didn't move to leave. She wasn't about to go anywhere until everyone else was on their way, and Tyche was back. That cat was essentially all she had left in the way of family. "Tyche isn't quite sure what the hell this thing is, which is slightly worrying."
Cassidy sheathed her dagger, leaving Rin to guard the gaping tunnel and rushed over to the boulder. She wedged her arm behind it and slid it surprisingly easily away from the wall, revealing a sizable gap that led into yet another dark passage.
“Well that’s convenient. We have to hurry. Those creatures could get here at any moment.” He looked over at Rin and the others “let’s move”
Rin wasn't paying too much attention to him, eyes focused on where Tyche had disappeared. "Come on, come on." She muttered, fiddling with her coin.
Cassidy looked at Rin. "Rin, come on! What's the hold-up?"
"Go on without me, I'll catch up." Rin gestured to the tunnel.
(Rats I think we need to wait for the others now)
((Am I needed?
(Well seeing as how this affects everyone's characters we kinda need everyone to post at least a couple of times….)
